I agree. But will change the sentence with my choice of words a little. He didn’t vocally pursue Sai.

V is like this man child. His age demands maturity but there this child that resides in him. Hence the bipolar reactions from him. Yes there is a child in all of us. But this one is a spoilt one who is ready to throw tantrums when he is denied a candy and the mask falls off.
Every individual is different and so are their ways of expressing. While V is obvious with his feelings like pain and hurt, he is reluctant with confession of love. Hence he employs these tools to express his love. Now in a normal situation these indirect indications are good enough of realisation. But with the complexity revolving around their relationship with the third wheel, it only becomes imperative to come clean. Otherwise it only breeds misunderstandings which is happening here. V is right in his hurt and pain, but he refuses to see the larger picture. And that is the gap. His judgement is restricted to himself and his feelings.
