SP pe chal jaata shaayad kyunki ye society wala show hai. SP shaayad pachhta raha hoga isliye vo soch raha hoga ki YRKKH tab tak end nahi hoga jab tak TMKOC nahi hoga(in terms of eternal show)🤣.

Raj i am surely watching Sky Castle very soon. I am so happy the drama is lengthy just last few episodes are. I love the black filter in the cinematography already.

Right now i finished IOTBNO and HCCC so writing a critical review on them.

Plot : What would you do for success?? If the reward was your child given the best start possible in life, would you lie?? Would you cheat?? Or would you go so far as to kill??

In korea’s highly competitive hierarchical world this is a very real and dangerous question which encapsulates the heart of this drama.... Specifically sky castle revolves around four different households who are faced with this very tough question.

The story introduces us to four women who live a life of perfection within the walls of Sky Castle (a neighborhood reserved for elite families).... On the surface each of these live the idyllic life but under this glossy facade is a far more damning and shocking truth.

All the families themselves are all complex and feature many moving parts – each important to the story being told here.... At the center of this is Seo-Jin, a woman striving for perfection & typified by her orthopedic husband Joon-Sang and trophy daughter Ye-Seo.... Younger daughter Ye-Bin is the tearaway of the family though struggling with her studies and ultimately the odd one out.

Next up we have Seung-Hye whose family is ruled with an iron fist by Professor Cha Min-Hyuk.... Their model daughter Se-Ri is overseas in Harvard leaving a large shadow hanging over her despairing brothers Seo-Joon and Ki-Joon.

Above two families make up the bulk of the drama here.

With Seo-Jin’s best friend Jin-Hee “Jin Jin” and her husband Yang-Woo essentially the odd ones out in the series.... not given too much to do beyond a sub-plot halfway through..... This family gave some really good comic relief to emotional, stressful tearjerking second half of show.

All these families are rattled by the introduction of a new family on the block.... Free-spirited and easy going U-Ju is one of the top students at school something he’s achieved thanks to Mum Soo-Im and Dad Chi-Young’s easy-going nature.... This is a far cry from the other families who push their kids to breaking point.

The drama itself is given an extra dose of tension through the mysterious Coach Kim.... Boasting a 100% success rate in exchange for a steep entry fee Seo-Jin buys her way to success recruiting this woman to help Ye-Seo with her studies.... Unfortunately this brings a whole world of trouble as Seo-Jin plunges her family head-first into a nightmarish scenario.

The first half of the drama works to set all these characters up and begin fleshing out their complicated dynamics.... There is a lot of drama here including fights, fall-outs and bad blood between the families.

The second half of the show takes a deep dive into the realm of melodrama.... With the characters already set-up, a death of very important character along with startling truths rock everyone and sets up a chain of events that see our characters forced to choose between whats right and whats easy.

Show is really well written, hard hitting and thought provoking.... Sky Castle is a fantastic Kdrama and a sobering look at a system that hurts people just as much as it helps.

Acting : All did fantastic jobs..... Everyone got atleast 1 or 2 such intense scene where they can showcase their acting prowess
Specially all the 5 FL's did amazing job.

Evn Kids/teen actors also gave their 100% to each & every scene which you can easily see in episodes of show.

Cinematography : Cinematography is top notch..... They used black filter throughout the show which really really go along with show & its theme.
Surprisingly this is first JTBC drama where i hadnt seen any yellowish filter in their own show.

Bgm/OSTs : There are only 3 OSTs in the show & all of them are really awesome.

This is one of few kdramas where i didnt skipped intro credits for all 20 episodes.

Whenever they used to play We all lie , i used to get goosebumps every single time.... We all lie playing in bg means something shocking is gonna happen for sure.

This show's plot is really similar to penthouse in so many ways, but what makes it different is this show doesnt come under makjang genre whereas penthouse is out & out makjang genre show.
Penthouse people will haunt you even in your dreams whereas sky castle people seems pretty realistic.

Most importantly this show got happy ending despite 2 important deaths in whole show..... Every family gets their own happy ending

Neon you should definitely give try to this show, this is totally your type of show.... I fully recommend you.... Once u had told me that you wanted to watch penthouse but dropped it bcz of 3 seasons, so here you go & watch this show, you will never regret it.... This might become your second binge watch drama after MINE.

Its Okay To Be Not Okay :

Plot :

A beautiful fairytale like story narrates the complicated, psychological, witty and heartwarming emotional tale of three main characters who had become each other's support system throughout the end of the show. To understand this drama you need to understand the main characters at first..

Moon Gang Tae (First ML) works at a psychiatric center with a cold hearted but caring nature. His life revolves around his Hyeong (elder brother) and he can never think of himself like he dont permit himself to think about himself anytime. He is very reserved, soft spoken and calm guy but inside thos cold Gang Tae lies a kid who is very lonely and needs someone with whom he can share his time and feelings.

Ko Mun Yeong (First FL), a children bookwriter with a condition of Antisocial Personality Disorder. The world knows her as an amazing writer but her personality is like of a bittergourd, a woman who can never feel the right emotions because of her disturbing and traumatic childhood and often comes out as a violent, arrogant, moody and a little psycho. But inside lies a small girl who is looking for love, care and affection that can change her. Her life coincides with Gang Tae as she is also very isolated.

Moon Sang Tae (Second ML) is Gang Tae elder brother, he is a special child. An autistic guy who lives in his own world of cartoons and fairytales. He is scared of butterflies because fate has scratched his childhood with some very dark and grimful moments which keeps haunting him. He is a very good illustrator and want to partner with Ko Mun Yeong and publish stories with her as she is his favourite author.

These three meet with each other in one circumstance and out of them, two get entangled in a romantic relationship and the other two get entangled in a beautiful sibling bond. The moral of the series is ultimately "United we stand, divided we fall" and the show follows this moral throughout the show. The show is an exception from the other romantic comedies as it is nothing like anything, there are dark mysteries, psychological pressure, hard hitting scenes, emotional breakdowns and an eerie vibe in the show that keeps increasing with each episode but the comedy, humour, romance, relationship bonding everything balances it out.

Acting & Writing :

Brilliant performances will win your hearts. All the main actors had done an impeccable job. You will have your own favourites throughout the episodes. Kim So Hyun, Seo Yea Ji and Oh Jung Se's acting skills will leave you amazed. The talented main leads Kim So Kyun who come as just a good actor at initial episodes and end up being the most amazing actor for me, a transformation is what i had felt literally. Seo Yea Ji is a symbol of beauty, her acting skills left me a awwwwwed. She is sooo fresh and fun filled to watch as Ko Mun Yeong is only what i had felt throughout the series. Oh Jung Se's gets the award of most talented actor from the south korean industry from me already, you will realize what a pityful character Sang Tae is and how brilliantly he performed it.

Supporting cast is also very very talented. Everybody had nailed their scenes. Not a single character as left me unsatisfied and even the cameos had outdone. But special mention to one character who had just surprised audience and made them feel so angst with her performance, none other than Jang Young Naam. She empower those scenes where she has to play a very very indigestable character.

Brilliantly written show. Very amazing dialogues with full of humour even if the scene is too serious and tearjerking.

Production Quality :

Aesthetic and creative direction and cinematography and sets, vivacious camerawork and spellbound locations. The opening scene, the ending scene, the animations, the cartoons, the proposal scene, the beautiful ending scenes of each episode. Everything is so pleasing that i cant explain it in words. OSTs are just woooow. My favourites are these two :

Super impressive work by the hardworking team of (IOTBNO) TvN and Studio Dragon.

Overall

The series is not like other romcom kdramas, you will see many dark, psychological and disturbing scenes but the series has enough light hearted moments, romantic scenes, comedy and familial bonds that it can be called a beauuuutiful psychological romcom drama.

10/10 from me but as i am critically judging the series i will rate it straight 9/10. Must watch, binge watch or regular watch. But WATCH !

I always knew before watching this show but till the end it will become my absolute favourite and guess what that happened. I loved this show and a bit more than the previous ones. Trillion hearts and zillions stars.

Pocket FM ke baad KukuFM🤣. I had no idea of KukuFM till one of these two videos came on my feed yesterday. How can Sharad agree to promote such a toxic story containing abuse and rape? (I listened one of the parts out of curiosity to know what happens after promo and got to know this) The comments under these videos from Sharad fans are more disturbing🤢.
