Awesome post Lakshmi. I agree with everything you said and it’s a pleasure to read his acting scene by scene . Neil has brought Virat’s character into life . It’s impossible to imagine anyone else playing Virat . In the show , he is hardly given dialogues but we are able to relate to his feelings because of Neil’s acting . One should watch for his change of expressions in a micro second . Not everyone can do that . Like any other person he has his bad days but doesn’t take away his skills and achievements. If we look at him without judging him for his personal life decisiona we can see a superb actor in him . He is the best actor in the show apart from actress playing Bhavani Chavan .
I may agree and disagree with some of Virat's actions but for me, Neil is not unbearable as he is made out to be.
P.S: He also forms the half of Sairat which I love.
People often forget that his character requires W*F moments. It's not his acting that sucks but the character. Virat's angry mood is too irritating. He goes so extreme in his hatred and he is so expressive about it that you really dislike his behavior. So Neil is definitely doing a good job if we are able to see his expressions. He is hated because Virat's character sucks from on track to another and for his marriage to Aish.

This particular actor forgets his own character name what more to say.. It's really irresponsible from both the director and the actor... 👎🏼
When he did well he was praised.. Even I tried to give him benefit of doubts many times but for the past three months he is beyond pathetic..
He was really underwhelming in the recent Lahu muh lag gaya song..
Kishori ji is also playing an out and out negative character.. But she is praised for her acting and hated for her character..
Neil can't portray that complex emotions.. There is a different between angst and disgust.. He just doesn't know the difference..
It's dumb to think he is hated for his marriage to aish.. No one bothers about that..
Just watch divorce drama how boring he was...
There is no doubt virat aka neil was superb in many scenes...mainly during GC days and some of sairat fights of initial days..the direction and acting especially neil was good..during that time ayesha was only growing..neil made it up for both...
But Healthy criticism is much essential...
Neil needs to work on his craft very seriously ..it's not going good..especially when the script ..direction..dialogues everything is so medicore and trashy..as a neutral viewer...neil is only portraying extreme hatred and disgust for sai..if sai was his life ..atleast some monologues..some nuances..again bad direction and creativity..it's getting so bad..
i really need a proper separation..they need to go miles and miles to be a couple...

yeah this is something we should not ignore!
and the sruthi track came right after his marriag. Neil is evaluated with prejudice! And it got mixed with prejudice against virat on sruthi’s track from KD.
Added to this prejudice is his personal engagements. He was at a very happy place personally, too busy with wedding and comes back to act in a track that doesn’t go with the emotions where he left Virat with.
It must be really hard for him as an actor! And having to sustain the same dialogues/emotions day after day is not easy. He definitely fumbled in sruthi track! And also judged too harshly on some good work too, which are not in his control as an actor… audience prejudice to him and Rono’s character in KD!!
However he did give some good episodes! For me his breakdown in hospital and hostel visit to sai stand tall in otherwise subdued performance in this track.
Neil definitely is a good actor! His body of work is a proof. He made virat Chavan alive no doubt. Now he is back again with his earlier mettle. I m sure he will shine through again!
PS: The recent scene where he was absolutely terrific for me is in lahu muh sequence. Ayesha no doubt shined more in that sequence. But the expression change in Virat when she rubbed the color on her neck shows how he gives very appropriate and believable vibes., there was intoxication seen in the face and desire in the eyes!

I don’t think so. He was a terrible actor at the time his character wasn’t bad like this. His expressions and body language were the worst. I never saw a male lead acting like that. I used to brush it off since it was just a beginning of the show and even ayesha was also not hood at acting at that time. I thought they are new comers. I didn’t know neil was an experienced bad actor.
Or may be I have high standards set up for acting or show and i refused to lower my standards so finally had to quit watching this.

I beg to differ..
There are actors who comes back to work the day after wedding.. He is not the first one who got back to work after wedding..
He is just too irresponsible....
Direction, dialogue and his acting everything is all over the place..

I know! I am just saying he might be too overwhelmed yaar. It is human. Wedding is a big event. It might be one contributer.
Also, he got no dialogues or monologues. He had to hide the truth, give same responses through out the track. He might have failed! This is another factor.
I remember Neil saying how acting in Pulkits lunch track was hard because virat was emotionally Warmer place with sai and to behave like that with her was difficult.
So it could be several factors that he failed. Still there are some episodes where he shone! This track alone doesn’t invalidate him as an actor is my point! He has body of work to prove otherwise. Also, I believe if not for KD, he would have been judged favorably.
My opinion based on the observations and comments. I could be wrong.
