And that there is no underlying hidden message in all this.

Otherwise i seriously don't like the symbolism behind this. 😔

On a separate note, when Bajirao Mastani was to be released, it led to serious discussions among the overall Marathi speaking population because of this.

Peshwas were considered very loyal and honest people and Bajirao who was immensely brave and could be single handedly credited for expanding the Maratha kingdom upto Delhi is a revered figure. For him to take up another wife was looked upon and especially when she was assumed to be of different religion. It's a matter of debate whether her birth was illegitimate. There's a popular opinion that she is Yavani (hindu father- muslim mother).

But i must credit SLB for changing that perspective. He gave equal importance to both Kashi and Mastani and it didn't look inappropriate. Kudos to all three actors for that too. It's hard to believe that Ranveer is not Marathi.

Towards the end, when Rao is dying and asks for Mastani but his mother sends Kashi was heartbreaking. But Priyanka did immensely good. Her pain and her love for Rao was so good.

I love that film... And it hurts me so much to see such beauty to be transgressed on such pathetic character here in ghum.

I love it too. Especially Bajirao and Kashibai's relationship. They portrayed it beautifully - PC and Ranveer.

There is are a few standard sautan songs...Pinga, dola re which is gujrati. They had to have chosen pinga.

Exactly and in both the songs, the two women truly love the man in picture and respect each other's love for that man, without demeaning each other. Infact the one having superior position, stands for the respect of other woman.

These shows are so low, that they dont get seen by the people who actually can create a riot on the whole aspect of maligning mythologies and history, like it happens with the movies..

I was irritatted due to this reason only but the fact is they don't have so much brain that they will think that way and secondly itv audience will also not go that deep online audience don't want pakhi near virat at any cost so let them do whatever they want

Don’t think too much .. makers are not that deep .. if Chavans are Bengali they would have made them do dola dola ..

This one is a marathi song ..with 2 ladies in love with one guy abd these folks are marathi

I was betting they would make Sai do saami saami ..

Now virat has to srivalli ..

see whatever the makers might want .. the channel will never make devar and bhabhi ka union ..this show is already trolled for that ..

today also in inebriated state virat was going gaga over Sai ..

Agree with you

Isliyeh ekku baby and Gul are the queens of TV industry

They could have make Sai dance on naino Vale ne as that song represents the girl who is deeply in love..Also suits with Ayesha personality

I hope it's only a coincidence like they made the first Sairat hug pose similar to that of KKHH. Sai was in Kajol's position while Pakhi in Rani's. Anyway, I don't know if they have enough braincells to come up with such ideas specially when they are the kind of people who think bhabi lusting over devar is love/care and a traiter IPS should be awarded for bravery.

Now it makes sense why Ayesha and Mrs. Bhatt were given similar costumes in same color. Like Priyanka and Deepika in that song.

Also it's disgusting for them to insinuate that both women are dancing for one guy when one is married to another. If Pakhi was single it would've been less disgusting. But no in her husband's presence she's trying to woo his brother.
Also that part when Sai dragged Virat away and she started exploding, why did Samrat take her reaction so lightly? It was clear she was exploding out of jealousy and he just brushed it off. He comes across as so desperate to get laid that'll he'll tolerate anything.

I am still not over it... šŸ˜”

Please ignore if you all are getting irritated. 😭

There is too much symbolism to Pinga in Bajirao Mastani.

Mangalagour (Mangal (auspicious) + Gour (Gouri- Parvati's another name)) is a ritual that a newly married Marathi woman performs.

Every Tuesday of Shravan month for the first five years of her married life, the woman performs a pooja early in the morning worshipping Shiva/Mahadev and asking for all sorts of blessings married ladies ask for their husbands.

In the fifth year, there's an udyapan or samapti of that ritual. Where all married female relatives, elders, neighbours and especially newly married woman are invited. There are specific games and songs played and performed. Pinga is just one of them and it has specific steps (one of which is the hook step in the movie).

These songs are traditional ones like those of godhbharai, haldi etc... passed on through oral history.

In the film, although they do not mention it as Mangalagour, Kashi invites Mastani by offering her traditional Maharashtrian saree and jewellery, symbolically accepting that Mastani is not a passing fad and Rao truly loves her and Kashi therefore accepts her position in their household.

It is thus her approval for Rao and Mastani's relationship and since she being the first wife doesn't mind, others shouldn't too and stop harassing Rao over this.

This is the context of Pinga in the film and here they have used it thoughtlessly.... Hence my rant 😭
