I do remember once upon a time it was sacrilegious to say anything other than flattery about her in this forum

The problem with Deepika in the whole JNU issue was that she was pretty much neutral till then.

But just before her movie released she went to JNU and her visit was spun by her pr that she was in solidarity with JNU risking her career while most other Bollywood celebrities were neutral.

The whole thing pissed off the right wing who were already mad at her for the drug issue.

Even the left did not support her and were angry with her as she never actually committed to what she stood for as after that one appearance nothing from her till now as they felt she had used the whole thing to make it about her and her film than talk about JNU

There was also that whole angle that she was paid a huge amount of money to appear and it pissed off both left and right.
