There's something called - downward spiral. It happens to everyone at some point in their lives. There is no way to stop the spiral or get off it, only wait for it to stop. That is what Abhi went through from Tilak 1.0 on. A downward spiral with circumstances - every single one of them - working against him. But all through it, he never once let go of his love for Akshara, never could let go of his belief that his feelings for her were 100% reciprocated but something was stopping her for accepting.

Sure, he made a bad decision by getting engaged to Arohi but he did it for his mom. She is his one weakness. People are known to do a lot of things for people they love. But he never professed to have any feelings for Arohi. He didn't mislead her. Did he do the right thing in backing out of the wedding at the last minute? Of course not. But it is better than knowing the truth, marrying and then putting all three of them thru another round of wringer. It's a few days of hurt / pain / society taunts Vs lifelong agony for the three of them. If you look at it from that POV, he and Akshara did the right thing.

Of course, makers added a lot of drama to it all.

But there was never at a point where his mind or heart or body (yes, I'm including the physical aspect too because it is part and parcel of a couple in love) wavered, let alone weakened. They were all owned by one person and one person only. Akshara.

Bottom line - he is not perfect. He is not your Knight in Shining Armor. He is not the modern Devdas. But he is not characterless.

He is perfectly imperfect person in love with his Akshara

I agree that it was wrong for Abhi to bring the rishta for Aarohi.... just like it was wrong for Akshara to stay silent during the first tilak after Abhi pleading her to talk. Both of them did it for their families. Akshu did it for Aarohi, and Abhi did it for his mom. They both did it out of love, guilt, and a sense of responsibility. People make mistakes, but that does not mean that we can reduce them to the worst thing they ever did in life. Making mistakes is how people grow, and that does not make people bad, nor in this case "characterless."

Yes, Abhi bringing the rishta for Aarohi was bound to raise some sort of hopes in her. If not of love, then of a partnership. Because that is what marriage is. No matter how many times he told her that he does not love her and only loves Akshara, he still brought the rishta. That in itself was a huge deal.

But, why ignore Aarohi's part in all of this? She knew what she was getting herself into.... she voluntarily agreed to enter into a marriage where there would never ever be any love. She blackmailed her sister to stay away from Abhi, and she took advantage of Abhi's vulnerabiltiies to essentially fix the rishta. And for what? Not for love, but because she wanted a trophy husband. Abhi was nothing more than an object who would make her "the best" in her mind.

Never once did Abhi give her any false hopes that he loved her, was attracted to her, nor even wanted to be with her for that matter. He always maintained a huge amount of distance... and everyone noticed it and knew it... everyone knew this marriage was forced on his end... hell, he even made that clear the day he brought the rishta.

To me, this story has never been about two girls going after the same guy or the same guy going after two girls. The story has always been about Abhira. Aarohi has had no place in it from the very beginning. If there is any triangle, Akshu has always been at the center of it with Abhi and Aarohi pulling her from both ends. That entire Abhi-Aarohi marriage track was about Akshu being pulled by her love for both of them.... and ultimately, Abhi's true, neverending love won over Aarohi's years of guilting, burderning, and blackmailing Akshu....

He did agree to marry Aarohi for his mother's sake but if you love someone so deeply you do take that decisions. He made Aarohi clear in first meeting why he is marrying her. For me he is the most loving character. A lover that every girl wants ❤️❤️❤️ I was upset during Manishs heartattack time with him for whatever happened outside Goenkas house but Manish also got him arrested. Also no one is perfect. totally agree and mein abhi ke khilaaf kuch bhi sun ne ke liye ready nahi hu....so ignoring all the negativity posts abt it....one thing....I would say is the only time I felt bad for aru is on her wedding day,,but apart from then every person was responsible was this...and if abhi is wrong then all the birlas are too...

Abhimanyu was clear since day1 about Akshara.. During 1st tilak, a big confusion happened, bcoz of Akshara’s muteness it got canceled.

But later it was Abhimanyu who proposed marriage to Arohi.. it was not at all needed. He could’ve said to his mom to look for other alliance outside Goenkas family.. And when marriage rituals were happening he was still running behind Alshara, which portrayed him as cheap. At least he could have been little polite with Arohi after the marriage is called off.

Triangle love story between two sisters is a very complex story. Many of the girls can relate now what Arohi is going through.. she may be negative or grey shaded personality, but still she is a woman, and seeing everything happening before her where once she was in that place is so heartbreaking for her. As much as I want Abhira’s marriage to happen, I want Arohi to come out strong and successful in her career, become a top doctor in the city instead of getting into this mess.

Seriously I’m not liking Abhimanyu’s characterization after Akshara’s confession. And also I don’t want Neirohi to happen.. it will be a mismatch.

I absolutely agree with each and every word. And this is how I exactly feel. I loved Abhi n AbhiRa too much in initial days but only to dislike Abhi's character at the end. I didn't like his behavior with Arohi or the disrespect he Carries for her. That's entirely disgusting. Anyway ... It's my opinion. But a beautiful post... Not many in the forum mat agree... But who cares... We can put forth our opinions 😉
