reading this my question that has been persistent since the day I started watching the show has become bigger now that I have more information about the Adilie relationship. and it's basically this:

HOW THE EFF DID PEOPLE EVER SHIP THESE TWO CHARACTERS???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Half the time Aditya has acted rudely towards Imlie. The other half is him literally forcing himself on her when she clearly wants to respect his marriage with Malini and is practically telling him, "dude. it's my headache how I treat my marriage with you. you don't have to bother with you. jao jeeyo apni zindagi. main apni guzar lungi." but he refuses to listen. Malini too was a good, supportive girlfriend/wife as well as a generally sweet older sister to Imlie. Was she a little insecure? Sure. but all her insecurities were fanned to become HUGE fears that turned her into an out and out toxic person because of the behavior she witnessed Aditya exhibiting.

I am just talking based on the writeup so far. Not talking about her later criminal activities.

What is soooooooooo....awe inspiring about AdiLie as a relationship except the tropey ITV "kismat" that is pushing these two characters together? I could never see it. I still can't see it after knowing more about it. The power dynamic between the two of them had been imbalanced since day1 and continued on for a very long time. even later when they supposedly fell in love...they had to hide it like a sin cuz ummm...isn't that what it was? Strip away the bhaari bhaari dialogues (like this write up has done) and just by reading the brief summary of the major events of their relationship and pata chal jaata hai innki gehrai kitne paani mein hai.

Y'ALL. HAVE NO CHILL

Thank you.

I just posted this because there has been too many fights in this forum… and I have been noticing some comments regarding Adi and Adilie relation that was not true… I felt that there were many comments on Adi and Adilie based on half information. And there were some readers asking for a summary of Adilie relation. And I genuinely feel that around the time GM decided to quit, Adi’s character started getting butchered and the character was a shell of what he used to be. The Adi that the new viewers were watching was not the Adi that I used to root for. So just thought to clarify it to all new viewers.

Right and I don't deny your feelings over the butchering or lack thereof. But isn't that the writers' prerogative? To not kill off Dobby? For Shah Rukh to not die in Kal Ho Na Ho? To not turn Malini/Daphne into a rapist?

When I stand back, all I can see is Malini the girl who once had been an innocent child is now a criminal.

Anyhow, I, and I am sure many others, never found the age gap palatable or the fact that he treated her as the bane of her existence agreeable. Or, more importantly, he decided to obfuscate the truth from his partner of seven years on the advice of a high schooler particularly heroic.

I don't see the butchering to be anything that much diametrically opposed to his original characterisation which put me off from the show in the first place.

It is not that I do not know the story and misconstrue Adilie relationship post facto is what I am saying.

Many people would be on the same boat whilst many will be seeing Arylie as a typical Gul romance which is fine, imo. :)

Imlie too contributed to the khichdi. Though Malini's crime is her cross to bear..I hold 4 of them mainly responsible- Dev, Anu, Adi & Imlie..I will be honest, did I cross over to Adi's side? No..do I feel this Adi is different than the original one? Still no. But your write up helped me in viewing a couple of incidents differently. Will you be writing the rest? 😆by the way, what is "Imlie felt emotion sickness for the first time"? 🤣What did you mean?

https://c.tenor.com/LVpPyZlIVesAAAAM/confusion-confused.gif 😉

Malini was wronged... I totally agree there... never liked her character but she was wronged by both Adi and Imlie.

LOL no, I will not write the rest because of the small fight that is brewing in this thread🤣

Imlie used emotion sickness in the recent episode, so I just thought to mention when it was introduced.

Replying to both here...

I know it is the writers prerogative and he has full right to say the story the way he wants. And I was just disappointed. But I wasn't that disappointed to abandon the show. They managed to keep my interest in the show. BTW if you look at it like that, then the age difference is also the writer's prerogative.

Regarding the age issue, I never had an issue though in the beginning I thought Adi was 27-28. My parents have 12 years age gap between them... I have seen people around me with that age gap and more and they all seem to be doing good. For me age difference doesn't factor in much in a relation/marriage.

And I agree Malini was a victim. My first post in this forum was about how I see both Adi and Imlie as criminals.

When I saw the first promo, seeing it was a love triangle I wasn't interested in watching the show. Then I started reading the reviews and watched a few episodes here and there. I started watching this show regularly from Adini first marriage. So, I knew this show was about bigamy and the man falling in love with his first wife. So, I was ready for that when I started watching the show, so didn't have much issue with it. And everyone knows, I don't take this show that seriously🤣
