What cracked me most during promotion was watching her justify “cheating” when her entire career is built on crying about it day and night! 😆

There is a gem of an interview that she once gave a to a reputed finance magazine …and the lady was asking specific questions abt her investment portfolio , what kind of startups was she interested in etc

And Deepu’s answers were like

“Oh yeh I’m a risk taker and go by gut…my investments are driven by the thrill of risk…I want to be part of companies I’m proud of with a sense of purpose and companies that help society” 😑😑 ,..I mean …how generic and rehearsed can u get without going into details ?

She is asked about what she brings as a celebrity to those companies by investing in them

“I bring emotion to the table …we tend to get too caught up about money”

It’s an interview about investing money 🤣🤣

She’s asked why she invested in a space company …she says oh it’s smth I’m proud of …

Nothing abt financial principles ..what’s the technology being used by startups shes investing in, what’s the projections…are those companies public or not yet? nothing ….it’s all fluff words “skin in the game”…”moving away from vanilla endorsements”

U can tell yeh pakka ratta maar ke aayi hai with no clue what she’s saying

Herz the link if anyone wants it

Poor interviewer....... all my sympathies are with her.

Deepika most likely collects her fat checks and lets her broker/asset management team handle her investments,..... while she tunes out with her maal. I highly doubt she has ever scratched her bank account figures beyond the numbers she sees.

I can't imagine her playing a hands-on role that side at all. And honestly, I don't care, that's fine... nothing to hang her over.

But WHY does she have to pretend that she even has an ounce of knowledge, let alone "expertise" that side at all, when she clearly can't even form a single sentence that sounds even remotely knowledgable on finance or investments? The amount of fakery and shameless self-promotion that Deepika indulges should be criminal. 😆 She's unbearable.

Actors/Directors ruin complexities of their characters when they try to explain their characters, leave to the audience. People who like understanding the psyche of such characters will do their bit and have their fun, people who dont, will leave the movie alone after watching it.

One of the main reasons why I like the female characters in Cocktail is because I never knew what the actors/directors said in defense of their characters (I hate Gautaum's character, I am just gonna assume Veronica and Meera are the Endgame) because its was MY movie watching experience and MY understanding of the characters. Same goes with Sehmat in Raazi.

I don't understand why actors/directors want to explain characters. Even Zain Imam tried to explain his character in his new show, but Bhai, you are literally Christain Grey ka Indian sasta version in your show, minus the BDSM, relax, no one cares as long as you go shirtless for a few scenes and you have a good chemistry with your co-star(s).

I wanted to make this post since ages now, sorry TM😆

This is so true, we shouldn't be "told" by the moviemakers how we should interpret the characters or the movie all in all. Their job ends at moviemaking, the rest is up to us. Deepika was this short from finishing a PhD thesis on the "gheraaiyan" of her character. 🤣

Unless they're specifically asked about their own take on the character they played (which I hope they never do to Deepika again), actors should shut up and let the movie do the talking. Simple as that.

I think what she may be trying to say is something along the lines of, "Indian women are normally expected to be a good, dutiful wife to their better half, dedicating your life to give them your all while putting their interests above your own. However, I think it’s okay sometimes to wake up with purpose and wanting to live a better life."

Isnt the life you mentioned about Indian women is better than her character ALISHA doing in the movie or what she is doing in her real life..

This women tested my patience when she was preaching about depression in Twitter while being a regular drugie! She even runs an organisation for depression without even understanding that drugs elevates all psychological illness! She calls herself as an empowered women but for all wrong reasons

I think reporters like ANUPAMA should first stop asking questions like WHATS THE PROCESS? HOW DO U PREPARE? HOW DO YOU INTERPRET etc etc...she keeps on poking such questions to these dumbest actors in round table and it irks me a lot...these people started this explanations only after such sensible questions from Anu/ rajiv...
