People on twitter are saying Pooja is talking about the goa elections, not gangubhai. In the tweet she is clearly talking about buying seats in an election and comparing it to a filmmaker buying tickets, there is no connection to it with gangubhai

Pooja wrote a tweet highly praising gangubhai, so I highly doubt she would make tweet trying to say slb is buying tickets

People should actually understand the context of a tweet before jumping to conclusions

And PR people have been publicizing Netflix/Hotstar has been paying Rs.100cr+ for Alia/DP's niche films.

I never understand how these Netflix and other OTT pay 100 + crores for just one film.. as they have only one way to get money is subscriptions, atleast for Netflix. Will the subscriptions collect 100+ crores. Who will subscribe to watch a movie which is already got released in theatres and many watched it. In that scenario it does not make sense to buy that movie for 100+ crores

Maybe? I never watched or kept track of those films. It’s not Alia I’m superficially targeting. MOST of Bollywood is involved in such deeds. Like Sooryavanshi was apparently houseful but then on the book my tickets app it showed empty seats. It’s all a facade.

Even Veere Di Wedding? What an awful film to be the biggest “female” opener, sounds like Anil Kapoor tapped into his retirement funds to swing that one.

Meanwhile films like Kahani and or Piku, Queen; that are actually iconic and will be watched for decades…. Are no where on these lists. But Sunny Leone is? I don’t believe it.

After the counting is over-next month..oppostion parties will try to buy winning candidates or seats from other parties...these are not chairs to sit.

How is that related to fake housefull boards.?What has that got to do with filmakers-do they buy candidates/stars

Explain to me.

She wanted to tweet..and found a way to get her message out.She is a producer director actor herself..this is the first hindi film to release after a long time.

OTT platforms usually have package deals with PHs, which includes upcoming releases, small anthology type projects/FameGame types as well as old movies. So if a PH makes 100cr, selling 10 of their old movies as well as the upcoming 3 movies and some small shows, they would say they made 100cr from each of the upcoming films.😆 Like Dharma has sold their entire library and some of their upcoming projects to Amazon. Obviously made a huge sum from that deal. Now Dharma can say or the actors of the upcoming films can say they made 100cr from a particular film.

Is it Alia PR or SLB PR doing this ? I go with Alia PR because SLB always shouts on top about his budget never downgrades it 😆

Alia’s PR since she definitely doesn’t want this to be her third flop in a row. Bhansali’s PR because he doesn’t want his successes to be strictly attributed to Ranveer and Deepika (It shouldn’t be but unfair things happen). Trade analysts themselves because they want the excitement of movies to go back to pre-covid days.

Election was 2 weeks ago, no? So interesting timing for her to have such a thought while tying it to shady movie business right after her sister's release. The timing is what's weird. Esp because Pooja is not some dumb woman.

I don't know that much about budget and other technicalities so can't say. It's written by Himesh whom I am following since a long time and find quite unbiased. That's why I shared it.

With Bollywood movies it’s always about how much profit the distributors make. Remember when Tubelight flopped and the distributors were panicking? There was a phrase that was going around, something along the lines of how the distributors were burning or something. I forget the exact wording. There were even talks of Salman paying them back.
