This is not some PR website. This is the actual biggest box office website of India. These are box office numbers and facts. Not some mumbo jumbo. It's Alia's show of box office starpower all the way. She is the biggest superstar among actresses today. This is fact, not opinion. She has proven before. She has proven again. PR and social media presence is on one side. Stardom is at the box offfice and a 10cr opening in a pandemic situation for a female centric movie is huge especially with 50% occupancy in major centres. It could easily have been a 15cr opening had it been pre covid. This is sheer stardom of Alia in a female centric movie. Why the comparison with Ramleela? That's not female centric.

Deepika's and Kangana's starpower was seen in Chapaak and Thalaivi. Both were super flop openings. They are the definition of PR made fake superstars who are only good in male dominated movies or typical Bollywood movies with hero heroine and song and dance. Otherwise the openings of their movies is abysmal.

And Katrina in a female centric movie? You gotta be kidding me. She can't carry a movie on her own shoulders. Who's gonna watch Katrina act? She's more of an A lister item girl who can only dance in male dominated movies. Take out the heroes first and then compare.

Alia is easily the top female star today. This is fact. Not opinion.

Chappak for example frankly seemed boring from day 1 for all viewers. Gangubai has been so exciting in contrast add to that a fimmaker like SLB who has his own following.

So , yes Alia deserves appreciation for the opening but she is definately not the sole reason .
I’m sure DP would have also got the same opening of she had played Gangubai. And if Alia would have done Chappak that would have flopped too .

Alia is a good actress. She’s even a great actress. Definitely better than Katrina. Possibly even better than Deepika although that can always be debated. But she does not have that sheer star power that Katrina and Deepika have. Add to that the kind of support and en mass praise that Alia gets before any movie vs what Deepika or Katrina get. No it’s not about talent. It’s about PR work and behind the scenes conversations. Practically the entirety of Bollywood comes out to praise Alia to the skies in a way that doesn’t happen for anyone else’s movies or performances. Never happened for Priyanka, Vidya, Shahid, Ayushman, Rajkumar. Again, Alia is a good actress but she’s not as great as the praises she receives from Bollywood.

Alia’s PR is just as aggressive as Deepika’s. The difference is that Alia’s PR puts a lot of focus on movie results and pushing Alia as India’s Meryl Streep whereas Deepika’s doesn’t seem hyper focused on one thing. One could say that Alia’s PR is shrewder than anyone else’s.

The way Alia PR is giving the whole credit to her discarding SLB is not fair, atleast his previous movies he was given credit equally along with his leads 😆

All praises are almost for only Alia like she alone pulled the movie without anyone's help but that is wrong.. SLB has equal or you can say little more credit then Alia for the movie but sigh... Who can tell them 😆
