Thank you to all who read my ramblings and gave me a warm welcome here. It has been a long time since I have even discussed anything. My biggest problem is I need to put my thoughts (if I have one) on paper and this thread gave me that opportunity. So, thank you, everyone, a lot. 🤗 🤗 🤗
Now what I wanted to say is that Vedika actually is needed at KM not only for viewers but also for the characters in the show. The reason is that we and everyone need to see Ram's transition from Vedika worship without them knowing. Yes, her presence is irritable, I know, but from a writer's perspective, they need to show how Priya has entered Ram's soul under the very nose of Vedika's presence.
Subconsciously, Priya will also realize how Ram has moved on from Vedika (I still feel it was infatuation). Everything he does in KM and his life only revolves around Priya and NOT Vedika. Once Priya comes to know about Ram's ex, she will be confident that Ram in fact has moved on.
If I am reading the writers well, then this is my opinion.
@Ritika: yes, Pri has accepted but she needs to learn how Ram is all hers even after his statement that his heart is locked. For this, we need Vedika at KM and I think all these episodes from Diwali are for that purpose.
@red: yes that is true vedika's presence is important for us and ram to realise that he has moved on but the fact at how much screen time she is getting and how much dragging is happening has become very irritating, and ik that writers were forced to write a lot of this because nakuul has not been available earlier due to health reasons and then his other commitments also take up a lot of his time which all lead to a lot of adjustments in the script of the show. But after all this vedika dose the transition that happened for Ram wasn't as convincing as it should have been with the amount of dragging they have done. Somewhere the writing lacks intensity, and quality.
@green: i too feel this. Since the very first shot of Ram and vedika I have felt that his love towards her was never the true love as he claims it to be but he was in love only with the perception of love. He has never experienced true love until priya came along. Now the very definition of love that he had learned in his youth he is relearning it.
His puppy eyes towards vedika, his always getting pulled towards her before marriage was just not convincing enough for me. It always looked to me like he has a perception of vedika and what love would feel like with her, and he held onto it. And Shashi always flaunting a perfect image of vedika and their marriage made ram believe that vedika was the best thing that he lost.
Because the moment priya came in the picture his body language towards vedika changed, maybe subconsciously but it did changed. he started prioritising priya over vedika and any time he didn't prioritised priya over vedika he felt guilty about it. Like on the wedding night when he was in car and texting with vedika he saw priya's bangle felt instantly guilty and went back in ignoring vedika's text, also during Diwali shopping when he was complimenting priya for saree and it turned out to be vedika he got awkward and uncomfortable, vedika's presence when he was sick made him awkward not once he asked vedika to be near him but priya, at hotel when he didn't supported priya and let vedika insult akki he felt guilty and went after Priya. He never wanted vedika in his home to begin with and kept asking priya about the same he wanted priya to say she doesn't want vedika in KM and tried his best to get her out asap and got really angry and disturbed when Priya asked vedika to stay. And even before marriage priya's presence always overpowered vedika's for ram.
So for Ram to be in love with vedika never made sense to me.
@gold: yeah I think that the next track after this chooda rasam is that only. Now priya needs to learn that she need to start see Ram as hers now. Till now she is keeping a distance from him, there is a formality in her actions towards him because she doesn't believe that Ram is hers but it needs to change. And I think now the cvs will work towards it.
