And the last scene of the movie is extremely creepy. On second thoughts, I feel this was a bad suggestion. You know what, forget I even mentioned it.

But if you're interested, here's a review that says everything I feel about this movie.

Interesting! Thank you! I will watch it when I get out of this opposites attract trope I’m currently obsessed with. 🤪

  • Hometown Cha Cha - Available on Netflix.

If you’re looking for more angsty but great love stories then I recommend the following. Happy endings are a must so you don’t have to worry about getting depressed.

  • It’s Okay Not To Be Okay - Available on Netflix.
  • Secret Love (2013) - Available online on Kiss Asian or DramaFever etc
  • Goblin - Available on Vikki

Turkish Dramas

Mix of Romantic Comedy and angst. Great great romance with a definite happy ending.

  • Kiralik Ask
  • Hercai
  • Siyah Beyaz Ask
  • Ask Latfan Anlamaz

English Movies

  • Pride & Prejudice - All versions 😆
  • Jane Eyre (2011) is so romantic *sigh*
  • North & South *triple sigh*

Agreed on Hometown Cha Cha! It's the next Korean show after CLOY that I can watch over and over again.

There's also the movie Emma with Anya-Taylor Joy....it's a good quick watch

Thanks for the recommendations but I’m in instant gratification mode and these are all shows. Bookmarked for future reference! 🧚🏻‍♀️

The Korean shows are mainly 16 episodes so though it’s not instant gratification but it’s constant and ongoing gratification. 😆

Hey Cham, that’s my guilty pleasure so I’ve got loads. Could you be more specific please: format, country/era you prefer, modern vs historical vs fantasy, do you need a happy ending, do you care if leads are ugly vs super attractive, etc. What are your favourites?

Y’all please drop a list of “opposites attract” themed rom coms before I fry my brain watching the Hating Game for then fifth time in 3 days.

Love has no language. So anything with English subtitles is fair game! Thank you!

Damn Fetish, we’ve got really similar tastes!! I love my asian dramas but nothing can beat a good old BBC period drama on a rainy day. North & South and Jayne Eyre are hauntingly beautiful and stayed with me for days. I wish they’d create a remake each year.

Ok so I won’t mention the country since you don’t mind and will let you look them up (I watch my asian dramas on viki):

Ashes of Love / Ten miles of Peach Blossom / Eternal love of dream / The Autumn Ballad (currently airing) / The romance of Tiger and rose / A girl like me / the Sleepless princess / Love and Redemption / My love from another star / Su Yu / Marriage, not dating / Jealousy incarnate / Go Ho’s starry night / Legend of Fu Yao / Ancient love poetry / Love better than immortality / Miss the dragon / General and I / The romance of Hua rong / Elisa di Rivombrosa (classic italian romance) / When Harry met sally (classic US romcom movie) / Jayne Eyre / Memoir of a geisha / Dangerous beauty (1998 US) / the English patient (not happy but oh boy this is a classic any romance lover should watch once) /

OK so my recommendations are

A Werewolf boy - korean movie. A naive Werewolf for a ML and a young sickly FL

Todome no Kiss - Japanese 10 episode drama drama. Sly and cunning gold digger ML and a shy and socially awkward poor FL

Tune in for love - Korean movie. The main couple are different but that's not really the main plot line. They are more star crossed?

The handmaiden - Korean movie that's wlw so... But they are opposites.

On your wedding day - Korean movie. Silly ML who eventually matures and mature FL

Our Times - Taiwanese movie. Cute high-school story.

A moment to remember- Korean movie. Classic romance about 2 opposites. But a tearjerker.

Exit 2019 - korean movie. Hilarious disaster movie. Unemployed loser ML and smart FL

Us and Them - Chinese movie. I think this one is on Netflix.

Leap year 2010 - American movie

Something new 2006 - American movie

No reservations 2007 ' American movie

Life as we know it - 2010 American movie

About time - British movie

Love, Rosie - British movie

Speed 1994 - Now I know this isn't a romance movie but Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves had some mad chemistry so I'm leaving this here anyway.

Also I hope you have already seen the GOAT rom com 10 things I hate about you 💕
