It's true that it's hard to find shows where Mother in law is having good relationship with her daughter in law. But it's not like such shows doesn't exist.

1) Sasural Genda Phool 1 and 2 - Not only the female lead has lovely relationship with her mother in law but also her sisters-in-law maintains a good relationship with her mothers-in-law and their mothers-in-law also maintained a loving bond with their MIL.

2) Ek Nayi Pehchan - It was mostly like Daughter in law supporting her Mother in law to move ahead in life instead of bearing the forced responsibilities.

3) Humkadam - Similar concept of Ek Nayi Pehchan.

4)Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 1 - Akshara and Gayatri had a lovely bond between them which everyone loved. Even after Gayatri's death, Akshara shared an amazing bond with her new mother-in-law Devyani. Both of them are really good hearted.

5) Patiala Babes - Babita's relationship with her ex sasur and saas was the exact meaning of parent's relationship with their daughter. They took their DIL's side even when they found that their son has remarried another girl and had been having EMA for years.

6) Shaadi Mubarak - Juhi and Kusum's relationship... Though they are not the main characters, their relationship was quite bright and realistic... Not like so supportive or so discouraging... But a balance between. I feel Preeti and Chanda's relation wasn't developed much as the show was discontinued.

7) Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka - Same case like Patiala Babes. The female lead was supported by her mother-in-law and her grandmother-in-law when husband cheated with her friend. The support remained till the end.

8) Jijaji Chhat Par Koi Hai - Though the leads are not married, the show has shown a good scope of CP and Bijli's harmonious relationship post their marriage.

9) Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi - I know it is a lame choice to add this show as the show is all about mother's insecurities when her son brings her daughter-in-law and also the crap they did in Season 3. But towards the end of Season 1, they shown the progression of Ishwari and Sonakshi on how they reduced their bridge and bonded together in a detailed manner. Also Season 2 covers it. Just because it shown the relationship development between Ishwari and Sonakshi, I'm adding it here.

10) Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon... Ek Baar Phir - Aastha and Anjali has a good relationship... Cannot remember their instances.

There might be some shows but they don't make such shows as they don't have masala in them. Audience want unnecessary twist and turns but few shows really showed good bond between DIL and MIL

I was clearly wrong. I haven’t watched any of the shows. Few episodes here and there of yeh rishta season 1, I only remember Gaytri being pissed at Akshara and making faces 🤣

It’s too backward in the beginning for me to even start watching the show

I never followed Balika Vadhu regularly but I think it did have a similar track? Jagya ditches her when he goes for medical studies and remarried (aanandi had fought with everyone too send him). Her in laws love her (only daadi sa had issues with her initially). She gets remarried and studies/works herself too.

Dia and baati - her selfish brother wants to move to US so gets her married to an illiterate guy (deceives both her and her in laws, she thinks her husband is educated and they think she is illiterate). Her husband her los fulfil her dream of becoming IPS officer.. and her mom in law, tough initially agrees and supports too. Idk what happened later had most itv shows just loose their plot after a while. (I actually hated sitting through this show though, my grandma used to watch it and I used to find it torturous)😭

Aanandi Gopal - Marathi movie based on real story. You can find it with subtitles on Zee 5. She was the first woman in India to become a doctor, and go overseas to study modern science. Her husband pushed her to do it. It’s set in British India. It’s an amazing movie, worth a try.

because itv thrives on saas bahu drama and how can there be drama without the saas being some kind of naagin lol..the words they use are so weird saazish and chudail typical itv but these shows get trp and good ones shut down

thats why i loved krpkab it wasnt the ideal saas bahu relationship ishwari was not a saint at all but it was realistic she didnt plot or anything but i get her insecurities and the show does an extremely good job portraying it and sonakshi is strong, independent and calls ishwari out too

problems between saas bahu relationship can be portrayed well without ott drama and weird plotting and scheming
