Waise this is the only serious post for today, but I don't think Aryan's character is being ruined by these lovesick puppy traits. This was always hinted from the very beginning. Even FK said something similar long ago iirc.

This is a man who tamped down on his youth and refocused every aspect of his personality into this undefined 'revenge' quest. Aru is many things but he's not a vengeful person. So, now that he's something that is equally important to him as his baldla— the first time in five years no less— we will see many of his previous puppy-like proclivities resurfacing. It's a coexistence and battle between his darkness and light. Narmada keeps on reminding us of "puranawala Aru", and this is it.

Yes, yes and yes. I was thinking along the same exact lines. I mean we have seen flashbacks of how playful he used to be, before Arvind Jeeju's death of course. And after that he went from Arru to ASR, but it's just been 4-5 years and we have to keep in mind that he was a playful and puppy-ish (?!) kinda person, like what I mean to say is that he took these aforementioned traits from his childhood to adulthood and not the practical businessman type of shades. Yes, he gradually built ASR and his persona but that doesn't mean he isn't Narmada's or Arpi's Arru. He will always remain Arru, bas it was tightly leashed inside ASR till Imlie came along. I think the issue is that with Gul's heroes in general and these tall, hot rude businessman in particular, we are kind of conditioned and accustomed to see just their dominating, heartless and cold aura. But these heroes, especially Gul's heroes either have their ideologies set from childhood (like the ML of IB and QH) or they have some sort of trauma which they bear brunt of from childhood or teenage again (like ASR from IPKKND). Nevertheless they are scarred from a young age so at the point we meet them, it's easy for them to retain their rigidity. It was never that for Arru and he's never really shied away from showing that he cares about people. Be it the hospital treatment he provided for the college kid's mother or how he saved Imlie from the men who had bad intentions. Revenge and anger are not and will never be his core traits. So, I don't think as well that his behavior is out of the blue, he has always been shown as an empathetic person who related to Imlie's pain before he fell for her. That also means he is attuned to his feelings and emotions, and now, it's overpowering his sense of logic. Just the portrayal of it, is sometimes unsavory. Like the premonition stuff, I understood that they tried to show that he was getting a bad feeling but the way they directly paralleled it with Malini's evil plan just completely made the scene go awry. The same happened today as well, when he broke open that window. So OTT. It's these factors that is taking awat from his character and not his behavior. I even think at times, that when he looks at Imlie he sees glimpses of his old self and that attracts him more towards her. He wants to protect that, what he couldn't do for himself.

Baaki of course, the way we look at things are highly subjective but this was just my interpretation. Hope it makes sense ! And thanks for tagging me friend, loved reading your take. ❤️
