By the way, Indian history textbooks don’t portray British or Mughals as saviours in any way. Not the NCERT books.

The only time we studied about Mughals were in 7th grade. Where it history is covered from the Delhi sultanate onwards. 6th grade and below we had prior period history. From class 8th onwards it was modern history, pre independence etc.

Some social reformers at the time felt that India wasn’t ready to be independent.. and it was a letter from Raja Ram Mohan Roy to the British prime minister that led to the adoption of anglicised education being established as opposed to the oriental system as they wanted exposure to western education.

India was not without its problems.

There is no glorifying anyone in the school texts. I’m not sure why you would say that.

I don’t see anyone making fun of the state. The only thing I find funny is how you are saying modi made it safer. I have lived in Gujrat during pre- Modi era too. It has nothing to do with him. 😂
