Thing is. They made Imlie "beti" so now she will want to do something. Then Aru's mother will be like oh, Aparna is my bestie that I just met at the temple and automatically made bestie and she was nice, so I will welcome them in our house. Then they will all come to be a nuisance. I can just see it. I hope they see we guessed this and doesn't make it happen.

Honestly, that's his biggest issue, that she didn't sleep with him🙄. Also cheaters themselves see everyone else as cheaters so they can feel better about themselves.

He's just a pathetic male chauvinist who's projecting his own deep insecurities on Imlie and he's angry that he lost his control on Imlie. Back in the days, she only had him and was very isolated.

Now that she's got others in her life who are not constantly keeping her down, it falls on him to do so she can become isolated again and only rely on him.

He's addicted to that reliance and power over a teen, he can keep two women in his life and cheat them at the same time because it's him so it's okay but lo and behold if Imlie actually finds real friendship and support outside of him.

Imlie's own independence hurts his ego therefore he'll say whatever he can to keep her down and gaslight her into coming back to the fold.
