After the entire mandir fiasco, Bade papa grounded both Akshu and Arohi ( no going out and no phone access ) for a month. Akshu acquised silently as she had always done in the past. Before her phone was confiscated she managed to inform Abhi. He was not pleased but had to agree with Akshu.
A week later, her bade mumma came to her room. She couldn't meet her eyes. Akshu implored her to speak her mind
" We have fixed a rishta for Arohi. Before people start commenting on the broken marriage, it is good we get her married off. Arohi has also agreed to this and the engagement would be held tomorrow. Here is your dress and matching jewellery. Be ready by 10 AM" to say Akshu was shocked was an understatement. She pondered " How did Aru agree to this?" But being the sweetheart she was, she was happy for her sister.
Next day 10 AM , Goenka house
Akshu got ready and she was looking like a fairy. All eyes were on her as she walked down the stairs. Something niggled in her mind, something was not right.
The groom's family arrived and the groom was none other than Arjun , her play mate and childhood friend, now a big business magnate. Had Abhi not entered her life , she would have probably been married to Arjun, though far far later in the future. To see him as Aru's groom was shocking but she was happy for her sister.
When the time came for exchanging rings, her Bade papa called her." Akshu, aage badao and hAath do Arjun ko" She was horrified, her family had lied to her. This was not Arohi's engagement but hers.
So she did the only thing she could think of, she swooned gracefully to a heap on the floor , all the while thinking of ways to inform Abhi.
Looking at his beloved sister in that state, Kairav did the unthinkable, he called Abhi and told him everything
While everyone was trying to revive Akshu, a roar of a motorcycle could be heard in Goenka Villa. ABHI had arrived
He was furious seeing Akshu's condition but on looking closely he could see she was faking it, the minx even sent him a small wink. Relieved , he decided to address the other issue on hand. He roared at the Goenkas" Aapki himmat kaise hui ki meri Akshu ka sagai karne ke liye"(insert lion roar). I love her and she loves me and only I will marry her"
Arjun , who was standing silently till now spoke " How are you sure that what Akshu feels for you is love? I know her longer than you have and have loved her for even longer. You are too old for her and her family also doesn't want her to marry you."
Abhi was shaking with fury and wanted to strangle that whelp but he had no time to waste.
He called up Neil and told him to inform all the Birlas to come to Shiv mandir in 45 minutes and to tell Ma to arrange a pundit for marriage rituals. The Goenkas were still gobsmacked when he swooped and kissed Akshu in front of everyone. She immediately woke up (nautanki) and when Abhi gestured her to sit on his bike, she did so most willingly.
He had no love lost for Goenkas but he was to be their Son in law in a while , so he politely invited them to his wedding.
Yeh dulha apne dulhaniya ko le jayenge , no doubt about that
Author's note : Frankly the Goenkas get on my nerves so wanted Akshu and Abhi to hoodwink them.
