This sounds quite sexist.

Anyway if that makes him feel better or more secure then so be it.

Maybe he also feels he lifted Deepika out of depression and emerged as saviour in shining armour.

So that perhaps makes him feel better about himself even if Deepika is bigger star and belongs to more famous family than him.

It's not even just about Deepika (which is beyond disrespectful for one's partner) , it refers to every woman he's met or worked with - Zoya, Anushka, Priyanka et al..

He does seem secure, the way Deepika has been working, it doesn’t look like much has changed since they got married.

Definitely sexist and full of himself.

Even the use of the word 'chicks' for women was demeaning.

It’s very much okay to feel secure. It’s basic and a man should feel insecure because his wife is more accomplished. why do we have to make a big deal out of it?

The question is about when they first started dating, at that time deepika was earning more than ranveer and she was a bigger star, deepika herself has said that ranveer was so secure and he was not effected by the success deepika had. And even today when deepika gets success he is very proud of her.

The question is also about how ranveer doesn't try to hog the limelight in his films aswell, as in 83 every cast member got to shine, Ranveer said he feels happy when his costars do well and he feels secure when they get praise.
