Hrithik had 3 highest grossers in 2000s and his dhoom 2 earned more than srk's movie oso
Hrithik's record has been waaayyyyyyy too patchy to compare him to SRK's in early 2000s. Even Zero was not as bad as Kites or Krrish 2

lol. Let's look at the facts.
In the 2000s, Hrithik had 3 HGOTYs (2000, 2003, 2006) relative to SRK's 3 (2002, 2004, 2007).
Moreover, Hrithik had 4 movies out of the Top 10 in terms of footfalls from 2000-09: K3G**, KNPH, Dhoom 2, and Krrish. For reference, the remaining movies were: Gadar, 3 Idiots, Mohabbatein, Ghajini, Devdas, and LRMB.
**Yes, K3G was an ensemble film with SRK and Amitabh. But if we're making a comparison with SRK during this decade, then SRK just had K3G and Mohabbatein, both of which were ensembles with Amitabh Bachchan (and Hrithik, in the case of K3G), and then Devdas.
I'm not even sure what sort of comparison you're making here, but Kites was objectively a better movie than the dud that was Zero. Probably ahead of its time, given the multi-lingual element. There is no "Krrish 2" -- just Krrish and Krrish 3 -- both of which were box offices successes, so I won't respond further to that comparison.

You know exactly what I meant by "Krrish 2"(it's especially boneheaded to call a sequel "3") but I guess if it helps you wiggle out of answering to the awful content of the film, have at it.
Im far from a Hrithik hater but calling K3G his film is laughable. He had a string of bombs before and after Dhoom 2 and beyond. His legit comeback film has been War - I'm really not trying to get him down but SRK was seriously unstoppable until RaONE or RA1 or whatever (lest you come at me for the correct spelling!)

I actually don't, which is why I said precisely what I said. There is no movie called "Krrish 2," and I cannot make an informed response about a film that doesn't exist. Now that I understand you are referring to Krrish 3, since you have clarified, I can give a response. Content wise, the movie was underwhelming and one of my least favorite HR movies. The music also sucked. A disappointing sequel to Krrish, though probably not nearly as bad as some say. That, however, is just my opinion. It did well at the box office. You could take a similar position on Chennai Express, which was one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my opinion--content is a subjective thing, after all--and yet it did well at the box office (a more objective measure).

You can make a subjective claim that giving Hrithik credit for K3G is laughable. That, again, is your opinion. Here is a fact: it is an ensemble film with Amitabh, Jaya, SRK, Kajol, Hrithik, Kareena, and Rani. What is not a fact is the supposed "string of bombs before" K3G characterization.
Here is Hrithik's filmography pre-K3G:
- KNPH: BLOCKBUSTER.
- Fiza: SEMI-HIT.**
- Mission Kashmir: AVERAGE. (this was the #3 film of 2000 after opening larger than SRK/Amitabh's Mohabbatein)
- Yaadein: FLOP.
**I understand that Amitabh's (and presumably others') PR tried their darnedest to have this one labeled as a flop, but Fiza was not a flop, and nor was Mission Kashmir. Both of them can be characterized as underwhelming, when you compare them with the standard set by his debut film, but that is to be expected. KNPH is a commercial flick, whereas Fiza is a nuanced portrayal of a sensitive and complicated issue. Ultimately, however, your "string of bombs before" K3G claim is inaccurate, as 'string' implies multiple and "bombs" implies flops/disasters. The only flop of his pre-K3G was Yaadein.

If you want to talk about flailing around pre-K3G, however, let's briefly evaluate SRK's filmography.
- PBDHH: FLOP.
- Hey Ram: FLOP.
- Josh: AVERAGE.
- Mohabbatein: BLOCKBUSTER.
- One 2 Ka 4: DISASTER.
- Asoka: FLOP.
In my view, having a blockbuster somewhat tempers the "string" element of this, but record speaks for itself. In the lead-up to K3G, SRK had 3 Flops and 1 Disaster.
Srk got really lucky because hrithik 3 good years of no releases at his peak period or he would of easily owned the decade with few more hits. Aamir and hrithik make very few movies hence why aamir after delivering 3 all time blockbusters last decade surpassing salman khan biggest blockbusters he still wasn't named number 1 because of less movies released, while salman had 11 clean success last decade.
aamir also gave all time blockbusters with ghajni and 3 idiots but fell short of number 1 because of 4 years absence and less number of movies released. Thats why audience turned to actors like akshay and ajay as they were the most active stars of 90s and still are. Even the newbies who have potential like ranbir kapoor or ranvir singh started doing few movies a year, srk who used have 2 releases a year before has gone the aamir khan way.
Would like to see how this decade turns out
