The way he asked with that deep voice as if asking her 'ab nahi chahti mere saath, mere paas rehna?'

Hug toh symbolic laga mujhe in that conversation, Karan was actually asking her 'do you still want to be with me or have you changed your mind now'

It was already a well established fact between both of them by now that they love each other with that

'tumne kuchh kaha...nahi...sun rahi hun...kya...woh jo shayad tum kabhi nahi bolne wale' scene

I guess isiliye Karan is cooking for her, giving her forehead kiss because he knows that she still thinks that he doesn't want to be with her, so to soothe that pain/fear/insecurity & assure her of his affections he is making these grand gestures
