That's completely true what you are saying. But again from an objective point of view his character has always been flawed in a way that whatever he says has to go.

Doesn't want Imlie coz he loves Malini

Made Imlie a maid servant in his house

Married Malini in front of his first wife

Fell in love with Imlie because of her nature so now he wants her and not Malini

When Malini was ready to be go, went, gone

He's the one who said friend friend

And what a friend with whom he slept in the bed that was supposed to be wife's

And even after all that putting on all the allegation and blame of their failed relationship only on Imlie when he himself disregarded all the proofs that she brought in front of him but destroying them himself
