Something else I really moved ahead with was thinking the dance might be imlie’s imagination 😆 she creates a ruckus while drunk and then starts imagining the dance and malini shakes her out of it. she’ll be all stop imagining aditya I know what you’re thinking and imlie will snap out of her inebriated state, think back to what she was thinking and who she was thinking about and get all shocked and flustered 😂😂 silly wishes

Can’t believe I am on IF after so long!

I used to read a lot of IPK FF back in the day. Started watching Imlie recently and I do post Imlie related tweets but Twitter HT has become joke lately (with fandom wars) and has made it near impossible to have any productive discussions / debates. Then I found this thread on IF and have been following the fun, naughty, insightful discussions you all have. So jumping in here to chatter away about Aru/Imlu and to fangirl over Fahmaan once in a while :-)

Love the insights here by Bluegrass and Charisma and others…(‘m sure I am forgetting a lot more usernames here).

That show did a good enough job of specifically showcasing female desire (and in general, desire/lust as a normal, healthy thing that coexists with love). Given that character (Khushi) and audience are conservative, it depicts it in a roundabout way than we usually see male desire (gazes, touches, etc). With her we had dhak-dhak / acidity / Rabba-ves…

Imlie experienced a brief period of attraction with Aditya (what she calls emotion sickness and has equated it to love? (She seems to be reevaluating now)) but that has died down much prior….and to the point that she definitely loved her husband / marriage relationship but was NOT actively “in love” with the man concerned.

I hope whatever awareness she now feels with Aryan doesn’t spook her or guilt trip her (especially coz her ex believes she’s having an affair with Aru and she knows the thin ice she treads on with Ts n Cs). The silent understanding in Aru’s eyes…and him not letting her linger / overthink these fleeting moments is lovely (for now). I hope this time around she experiences geniune love for the man first-n-foremost (not something that she’s forced to accept…and uphold and be loyal towards)

Ok, that was random musings…a bit all over the place.

We can talk about IPK on that forum, it's still active and lovely!

I don't think she was sexually attracted or even awakened (😬) towards Aditya, I think she was attracted to him in the way way we get attracted to people we romanticise and idealise.

I see a difference between the two and I don't know if I have got that across.

It's like having a celebrity crush and wishing to sleep with them, but whether you actually want to do the deed when you meet them is another matter altogether.

Wow, it's been legit years since I posted on IF. Things have changed a lot. Anyway, got reminded of this place cuz wow there's no escaping the tellywood hellhole in this lifetime I guess. adkhaewa! anyway! Idk how much the IF culture has changed but hamare zamanay mein toh there was an active community of people who made edits and gifs that used to be flaunted by the users on the forum. idk zamana kitna aage badh gaya hai..I toh still gif to show love. and since AryLie are the latest obsession..toh I came here to share some stuff with you all.

I am mostly active on tumblr @ badedramay where I've been regularly giffing/talking about AryLie.

There was attraction but yes, as you put it, its more along the lines of a teenage crush that you’re curious to explore but fortunately or unfortunately didn’t evolve into anything beyond. And yes, Aditya was (and probably still is) on a pedestal for her.

Besides, Aditya more or less treated her like a girl (cheek taps, etc) in their best moments and berated her / ridiculed or caste aside her POV as if she were a petulant teenage girl.

It’s also interesting that in the later phases of their marriage, she’s actively brushed away nearly all romantic moments herself. She never entertained them and “chiiii” was more or less her default response to suggested romance / intimacy. So whatever it was - it was brief, a phase. And it was over even before Aryan entered their lives.

With Aryan, it’s different coz he treats her as a woman…and as an equal. And she responds like one too. I see the potential for her to blossom and hopefully her new found awareness about their proximity is something she reflects on as days go by.

True! From an audience standpoint, its harder to imagine a healthy romantic married pair if one keeps calling the other a child.

Yes! Janmastami night / following morning has shaken and scarred her badly. The girl practically guarded his bedroom the entire night only to see what she saw the morning after.

1. Aditya never acknowledged her perspective

2. Aditya never made adequate amends to ease her

3. Aditya was keen on moving ahead with their marital relationship and kept pushing her to as well (without 1 or 2 ++ sustained pregnant Malini’s presence)

4. And yes, the fact that she rejected him but cozies with another man makes Aditya see red. That’s his entire gripe. Hence his disgusting remarks and calling her a butterfly.

Coz he was continually rejected and didn’t get what he wanted….. (starting from PD3 where he says I want to spend time with you and Imlie brushes him off saying I ain’t spending two minutes with you…go home to the wife you willingly married)

And as true Aryan's words are, he's only feeling as strongly as he is because he's starting to like her. His words mirror our words because we also want Imlie to like Aryan. But she doesn't yet. And yeah, the singing could have gone much much worse.

I think she definitely likes Aryan, she just can’t see it, and neither can Aryan, because there’s so much else clouding it right now. The fact that what he thinks and says, the fact that he’s disappointed in her and she doesn’t want him to be, that shows he’s creating space within her heart.
