Infact my comfort genre is 18th century England books...not necessarily romantic
I even love sherlock series ,great expectations and all
And pride and prejudice ki to baat hi alag hai
Like may be we love it bcz there was no one sided unrequited love story but instead there was two sided deep love but both were like "really???i choose them??really???"🤣
Not exactly... you do know the reality of Jane Austen herself. It's said that hers was unrequited love story in reality, she died single.
And actually in original version of Pride and prejudice, they didn't marry, as it was her own story. She wanted to sell the novel for money and publishing house forced her to change it to happy ending. She badly needed money so she agreed to change the ending and bargained for some extra money.
You should read about the author as well if you get time.. one more interesting fact most 18th century England books are written by female authors who at that time used to write behing some male names.. quite later, there original names were revealed and updated.
Let me share one common aspect from all Jane Austen story, the female will never have dialogue where she will say '"i love you" or something. If I am not wrong in P&P she says "your hands are cold".
She will convey her feelings indirectly always...and in each book, the proposal happens twice, first time reject, second time accept...as it's said in her real life she was proposed once which she rejected.. she waited for second proposal but it never happened.
