I had noticed the difference too, I always found him worried for Monami, and thought its coz he knows she is trouble magnet or doesn't trust that she can manage on her own

Sanj ke case mein he knows she is trained commando so can handle well

When it comes to emotional part, you are bang on, for Sanj the difference was crystal clear today, he asked her 'main kuchh kar sakta hun, baat karun to your parents & Kundanji' 'I'll be always there for you, feel free to reach out if you need any help'

But for Monu he always went out of the way, concern, guilt, hamesha he found some reason to justify his actions & care
