Add to that the soul-searing lyrics of Shailendra and music by Shankar- Jaikishan, and Balraj Sahniâs calm presence on screen and you have a masterpiece.
I think SJ really churned out a very different soundtrack with Seema.
Another song I absolutely love in Seema in raag Jayjaywanti- Man Mohana bade jhoote
When Lata was asked which actress lip syncs best to her songs she had mentioned Nutan and had given the example of this song. See how her jaw and throat moves with the harkats! This could be, of course, because Nutan herself was a classical singer and had the knowledge of the nuances!
OH THE MASTERPIECE! The vibe. Nutan was such a beauty. â¤ď¸
Mera Saaya is a beautiful movie!! I love all it's songs!! I was eagerly waiting for the trivia!! Thank you Ritu!!â¤ď¸
Naino mein badra chhaye ..bijli si dhamke haaye ... Aise mein balaam mohe garva lagaale..
Prem deewani hun main.. sapnon ki raani hun main .. pichhle janam se teri Prem kahani hu main aa iss Janam me mujhe apna bana le...
is a soo wonderful!!
Someone please hug meâşď¸...wifeeyyyy... Where you at?đ¤
Aapke pehlu mein aakar ro diye hai.. heart-wrenching
Nainowale ne..bhole bhale ne... haaye mera dil loota .. uff ufff ufff ... đâşď¸their banter in the song flows soo well!!
Wow thanks for sharing that interesting bit of trivia about 'Mera Saaya', I had no idea about this!
Yep, I remember watching this movie first ages ago on DD when they would air Hindi movies every Sunday, It used to be a special treat for us kids at the time!
It was also the movie where Sadhna had begun to show the symptoms of her hyperthyroidism. She looks distinctly different in different parts of the movie đ
And here's the song that my dad used to tell me earned so many whistles and hoots, and people threw coins at the screen. And it was choreographed by Saroj Khan! I just found this out! She was assistant to B. Sohanlal then.
There's a friend of mine who believes Sadhna is the worst dancer from that period đ, idk if I agree but here's this song for you to judge..
Awwww you're welcome.
Glad you guys liked the Trivia!!! đ¤â¤ď¸
Lizzie Dee : CANNOT COUNT the number of times I've grooved over Jhumka Gira Re...dance class to hanging out with friends. Everywhere!
But the brilliance is Naino me badra chhaye ALWAYSSS FOR ME.

Just some more trivia -
Sadhana became known as "The mystery girl" thanks to her collaboration with Raj Khosla in his trilogy of suspense films - Woh Kaun thi (1964), Mera Saaya (1966) and Anita (1967).
It was R.K Nayyar, the director of her first film Love in Shimla and later, her husband who suggested she sport a fringe haircut like Audrey Hepburn and it became famous as the 'Sadhna cut'!
And my tags broke again đ

You know why, right? She had a big forehead and to cover up that he asked her to get fringe/bangs like Audrey Hepburn and it worked out for her.
My Dad told me this as he was a big Sadhana fan in his college daysđ
