Hello people,

So, I'm here to ward off the MaAn withdrawal and the Sunday blues.

Part 2:

Anu couldn't help gushing over the gems of happiness being stitched over the drape of her life, one after the other.

Her dream project, the partnership, the joy of being self-dependent, her children standing with her in her struggles, the respect, her own house, those little achievements of managing and decorating it according to her own will, the untainted warmth of affection from Mukku, acceptance from a family for who she is, the colours of love, and the one person who connects all these dots for her, Anuj! Her Anuj.

Kaanhaaji is being too generous in his blessings and she is grateful for it all. She doesn't take anything for granted, not even pain.

As soon as Anu stepped out of Anuj's car at the Parking of Kapadia House, she folded her hands and passed a quick reminder of her thankfulness to Kaanhaaji looking towards the starry night sky. Halting for a second, not wanting to jinx it by herself, she hid her mouth behind her hand, facing away mimicked the action of spitting, saying, "Thu. Thu. Thu!"

And why she should not! It was a major event for their project. Anuj's company had hosted a party to announce their unique restaurant chain in a grand way. He also leased on the audacity to present her as the face of the project, bringing all the limelight to her face and recognition to her name.

It all seemed to be her far-fetched cherished dream, just a few days ago.

Anu was shaking with nervousness only until her eyes fell on the anchor of her life, Anuj. A bright smile radiated from his gorgeous face bringing along the strength she craved. And all the pieces seemed to fit right in their places.

Needless to say, she owned the stage and the night, with him by her side.

Anuj jogged around the car to reach her side, flashing the same smile that had fluttered her heart on more than one occasion tonight.

He was expecting for them to head towards their floor when Anu interjected, "Aap chalie, mai thodi der garden me baith ti hu." There was so much going on in her life that she needed some time to wrap her head around it all.

Anuj couldn't be happier. He was already dreading the moment to part, especially when she was looking this enticing in her royal blue designer saree with glimmering dreams in her eyes. He couldn't remember the minutes he looked away from her throughout the event. It was beyond his ability.

"I'm coming along," Anuj declared.

Stopping her for a moment by showing his index finger, he retrieved a shawl from the back seat of his car.

"Iss time pe thodi thand badh jaati hai aur waise bhi tum mujhe hero banne ka mauka toh dogi nahi," he joshed, raising one of his eyebrows. Anu didn't even try to look away, for she knew it was futile.

The moon was a shape of half-laddoo, the stars shone brightly. They shared a few moments of silence together, sitting by each other's side on one of the society's park benches. It was serene. It was peaceful.

The wind had started to pick up and Anu involuntarily caressed her arms, hugging herself. Anuj extended the shawl and Anu accepted it with a gentle smile.

As she was trying to tug the bundle of warmth around her body, it got stuck at the designs over the back of her blouse. Anuj saw her struggling and had to step in for help.

Standing behind her, Anuj carefully untangled the fabric and covered it around her arms. His eyes fell on her perfectly styled bun. A long-lost wish of seeing her with open hairs knocked at his heart. He was half-expecting for her to lose her hair open for today's party but she took the instruction of formal look too seriously.

Weighing the risks, he acted on his heart's impulse, saying, "Anu, tumhara bun bigad gaya hai, mai khol du?" He bit his lips, teasingly. Looking towards the sky, the sole witness of his harmless lie, he held one of his ears passing a quick apology to Kaanhaaji.

"Rehne dijiye ne, Anuj. Thodi der me ghar hi toh jana hai."

A wave of disappointment whorled his heart and his face fell, instantly. Not wanting to give up easily, he pressed, "Thodi der ke lie hi sahi, I can't see you with any imperfection."

He didn't wait for her reply. Taking in the liberty, his fingers vanished inside her bun, uncurling the waves of her hair one after the other. Not long ago, her smooth long tresses danced on the tunes of wind around her shoulder.

Anu had no idea what she was signing up for. Time and again his fingers caressed around her exposed neck and shoulder blade giving her jolts of excitement. Her stomach flipped and wanted to scream its own symphony. She could only blame Devika for choosing this trendy blouse pattern for her.

Anuj let his fingers run along the length of her hair, unabashedly, savoring the feel of it. He tried to collect them in his fist and then let them loose, paving a path for his fingers to come in contact with her bare skin. He was aware of the reactions his touch invoked in Anu and was pleasantly surprised.

Exploiting the situation further, with mischievousness dancing along his lips, Anuj intentionally ran his fingers along the seam of her shoulder with the pretext of arranging her hair. Anu's body shuddered with a long shaky breath and she instantly clamped her lips trying to stifle her voice.

Flashing a proud smirk, bringing his face closer to her ear, casting a side glance to her downcasted eyes, Anuj whispered innocently, "Anu, tum theek ho?"

He was sure he's not getting a response to his question. Smiling all along, he mimicked Anu's previous action of warding off the evil eye from their life, gently mouthing, "Thu. Thu. Thu!"

Superb! Read both the drabbles and loved them! MaAn in office working in their privacy while stealing glances! I am avid star and moon gazer and I love starry nights! The second drabble had all my heart! Anuj taking the lead, initiating things, coming out of his "na-ummeedi" and "maryada" zone is something which I have been waiting for! ☺️❤️Show me pata nahi kab dekhne ko milega! 😒
