Part 1
As Anuj passed through the corridors of his office, he inhaled the vibrance of being back to the work after a long week. But the fragrance he was longing for greeted him in his cabin.
For the umpteenth time, he's happy with the way he dodged the idea of a new cabin for Anupama. After all, sharing is caring. With an added advantage of the view in his cabin, her view.
Slightly perched up on the chair, Anu was incessantly tapping the keys on her laptop, the one given by him, smartly using the cover of the company's project policy. The professionalism and speed with which she was using the gadget it was impossible to predict she started using a laptop for only a month.
She is a quick learner and he is a proud teacher. How he wished to teach her his favourite language of love!
Too bad his head injury had caused him a week's loss of admiring and ogling at Anu's work mode. But the same week has provided him the rare chance to witness her morning glory, with slightly damp open hairs and flushed cheeks, when she used to come to wake him up. His dreamy eyes played those visuals, nostalgically.
Before he could lose it to the temptation of his dreams, he shook his heart off those desires and entered inside the cabin. He had Anu's attention instantly as he settled down on his chair.
Anu's gaze followed all his movements from his courteous acknowledgment with a sweet smile, his slender index finger switching on his laptop, opening his diary, extending his arm to reach out to his pen, unbuttoning his suit, to adjusting the collar around his neck. Suddenly, the words on her laptop's screen became too bleak and blurry to be focussed.
She had to avert her gaze for the sake of her sanity. She had to admit, she missed seeing him in this prim-proper businessman suave. He's one such handsome person.
Forced to give her eyes the fill of him, she tentatively looked above her lashes. Anuj had his diligent eyes focused on the file while his tongue was slightly poking out, mercilessly caught between his lips. It was such a natural human act but it appeared so tantalizing at the moment that Anu could only sigh and continue to look at him unabashedly.
Her private moment of staring received a sharp jab as Anuj suddenly peered at her and asked, "Anu, tum.."
"Maine kuch nahi dekha!" Anu blurted out before he could complete his question, too horrified to be caught staring inappropriately. She shook her head vigorously in an attempt to stress her words.
Thoroughly confused by her misplaced reactions, Anuj patiently tried to ask again, "Anu, mai puch raha tha ki tumne kya socha.."
"Maine kuch socha bhi nahi. Sacchi!" Anu jumped into her defence, not giving him the chance to complete his question, leaving him baffled beyond belief.
"..iss new idea ke bareme." Anuj trailed of his words, suspiciously staring at the wide-eyed strung-up Anu.
Flustered, Anu bit her tongue. Downcasting her eyes away from his prying gaze, she scratched her forehead with two of her fingers. Another of her lame attempts to hide her embarrassed face from Anuj.
Before she could utilise the moment to recover from the goof up, Anuj asked, ever so tenderly, "Anu, tum theek ho?"
Anu could only nod her downward-looking head, without meeting his eyes.
