I doubt Ranveer is thinking "oh I need to focus more on melodramatic characters now"...he's gotten way enough praise to stroke his egos to continue what he's been doing. In fact, I bet he's even more arrogant about his talents.

What I see happening is him being careful about the big budget movies he does especially ones that are based on real people. He rarely does quiet subdued characters so that's unchanged.
