Breakfast table at Kapadiya house, first work day in the new year; Anuj is having breakfast while Anu brings few more garam thepalas to the table.
Anupama : ye lijie garam hai, ye Mukku aai nahi abhi tak nashte ke liye, 8 bajne ko hai, me dekhake aati hun…
Anuj : (holds her hand by wrist as she is about to go for Mukku) Anu, baitho (makes her sit) tum bhi breakfast karlo, kabse bas bhag rahi ho kitchen ke andar bahar andar bahar…
Anupama : Haan main bhi kar leti hun, bas Mukku ko bula lati hun..
Anuj: (does not let her leave the chair and makes plate for her with thepalas and chutney) Maine kaha Baitho, Mukku nikal gayi hai subeh subeh cycling ke liye, US me bhi jati thi, GK walk pe jane jate mujhe bata ke gaye hai. Ab tum chup chap baitho aur breakfast karo.
Anupama: (complies) Achha aap bhi kijie, ek aur thepala dun…
Anuj: Tum shuru karo, main leta hun…
Anupama starts eating.
Anuj: Aaj ka poora din bohot busy jane wala hai Anu, naye saal ka first day maine poora hamare hotel project ke liye allocated rakha hai, hotel ki management team, construction, interiors, finance aur HR teams ke saath meetings lined up hai poora din, so acchese breakfast karalo, din me shayad time na mile thik se lunch ke liye..
Anupama: (asks curiously) Construction interior finance ye toh samaz aa gaya, ye HR kya hota hai?
Anuj: Umm HR matlab Humane Resources team, jo hamre hotel ke staff jaise ke front desk hai ya maintenance hai ya kitchen catering ya cleaning staff aur jo jo bhi staff chahie hoga use recruit karenge. Jarurat ke hisab se job ke liye sahi log dhundhenge.
Anupama: (asks hesitantly) itane sare bade bade logon ke meeting me mera kya kaam?
Anuj: Are hotel ki co-partner ho tum, tumhe toh hona hi hai har meeting main, Accha Chalo hum dono sath hi office chalate hai, raste me sab batata hun.
Both leave for office.

At shah house breakfast table:
Vanraj: Baa ye bread aur sandwiches ke alawa bhi breakfast hota hai ye bhool hi gaya hun, bade din ho gaye dhang ke methi ke thepale khaye hue, aap bana doge.
Baa : Thik hai, kal banati hun, pata nahi meri kamar kitna saath degi, par koshish karti hun.
Kavya: (monologue) I have got this one, ye pati logon ke dil ki entrance pet me hoti hai, suna hai mainebhi, mujhe bhi V ke liye kuch cook karna chahie, meri ye koshish dekhake akhir kab tak mujhe ignore kar payega V.

At Kapadiya Empire’s office in a conference room:
Anupama is restlessly tapping pencil on the diary pages as the meeting is about to start.
Anuj: Anupamaa, tension mat lo me hun tumare sath.
Anupama looks at Anuj’s reassuring face and tries to be calm and composed. A couple of people enter the room and settle down.
Person A: Good Morning Sir, Good Morning Ma’am.
Anuj: (Smiles) Good Morning.
Anupama: Jai shree krishna Mr. Sharma.
Anuj is amazed at how she remembers him correct by name.
Mr. Sharma : Bhumi pujan ke baad aaj phir aap se baat ho rahi hai Ma’am. Mere sath hai Miss Neha from Interior designs team.
Anupama: Jai shree Krishna Neha ji.
Neha too responds with namste gesture.
Mr. Sharma: Construction ke current status ke sath meeting ki shuruwat kare Sir… Ma’am…
Anupama is slightly surprised to receive the respect and authority she is being offered as the partner in charge along with Anuj. She pauses for a moment and nods in yes. Mr. Sharma begins to present construction status. After a while;
Anuj : Thank you Mr. Sharma. I think we are on schedule for our launch date. Hum plan ke hisab se samay par launch kar payenge.
Mr. Sharma: Thank you sir, over to you Neha.
Neha joins and starts with her presentation on hotel interiors.
Neha: Thats all from me. Yeh interior themes aapako kaise lage…
Anuj: Miss Neha, I do see your work here, (in slightly stern tone) But mujhe abhibhi iname hotel ki concept ka feel nahi dikh raha hai, the ambiance (quickly looks at Anu) ‘hotel ka mahol’ hamara jo theme hai “Ma ke hath ka khana” use puri tareh se compliment nahi kar raha….aapako hotel ki theme pe briefing and pointers toh mile honge na….
Neha: (saddens as her work get criticised). Yes sir..
Anuj : I was hoping ke aap unn pointers ko Dhyan me rakh kar designs banaengi.
Anupama notices as Neha’s face turns pale.
Anuj: Designs sirf final karane me agar itna waqt jaega toh construction timely complete hone ka kya fayada. (Looks away in disappointment)
Room gets silent for a moment. Anupama enters the conversation to break the silence.
Anupama: Neha ji, aap ne bahut mehnat ki hai, mujhe aapaka..,woh kuch tables par sofa kursiyon ke sath takie wali charpayee ka idea bahut accha laga. Agar koi chahe to ghar ke jaise paalthi markar baithke shanti se khana kha sakata hai. Bujurgo ko bhi baithane me aasani hogi.
Miss Neha: Thank you Ma’am. (Neha smiles as Anu acknowledges her input)
Anupama: bas isame chote chote badlav ki jarurat hai jaise aapane jo lights ya rango ka safed colour me idea bataya hai na, woh ekdum modern hai par woh ghar wala mahol nahi deta…mera matlab hai ghar wala ‘ambiance’ nahi deta (looks quickly at Anuj for confirmation if the word is right, Anuj nods in yes with light smile), ‘Ma ke hath ka khana’ kisi cafe me baithke nahi balki ghar me baithke sukoon se kha rahe hai, aise lagana chahie, hai ne Anuj…
Anuj: (he is looking at her with so much pride and faint smile) Bilkul…
Neha: Sure ma’am, main kuch naye calm sober, light and color themes sochati hun.
The discussion continues ahead. Meeting finishes and MaAn entering Anuj’s cabin together. Both sit across the table. Anuj looks smilingly at Anu while Anu questioningly raises her eyebrows as to what happened.
Anuj: Maine kaha tha na Anu, tum mujhase jo sikhogi wo sikhogi par main tumase kafi kuch sikhane wala hun. Main…insaan ki parakh kar leta hun par Kai baar logo ko sahi tarike se dhaal nahi pata, sambhaal nahi pata, lekin tum…tum logo ko bahot acchese aur jaldi samaz jati ho, Tumane Neha ko bohot acche se improvements bataye.
Anupama: (Smiles) Haan, galtiya dikhana bahut jaruri hai…par sath sath acchaiya bhi dekho toh insaan aasanise galtiyan maan leta hai aur sudhar bhi deta hai….
Anuj: Sahi keh rahi ho, Accha, chocolate milk piogi, main apane liye manga raha hun..(holds phone receiver for her response)
Anupama: Iss waqt?
Anuj: haan agali meeting aadhe ghante me hi hai aur kuch emails bhi dekhane hai mujhe toh..
Anupama: Bilkul nahi (takes receiver and puts it down), khane ke time pe khana hi khana chahie, 20 min bohot hote hai lunch ke liye, aur kuch time ke liye aap laptop nahi dekhenge toh toofaan nahi aanewala, chalie khana khate hai…(Anupama shuts his laptop’s screen down, Anuj obediently rises up from the chair)

Anuj: Toh kaisa raha Aaj ka din tumhare liye Anu, pura din office me bitaya…humane.
Anupama is fully lost in her thoughts.
Anuj: Anupama, kya baat hai, tum itni chup kyon ho, waha meeting me bhi mujhe laga ke tumhe kuch kehna hai, but tumane kuch kaha nahi, koi baat hai toh batao mujhe…Anu…bolo…Mr. Mehta ki baat ki wajah se pareshaan ho?
Anupama : (looks up into his eyes and asks with heavy voice) Anuj, aapane ye partnership mujhe kyu di hai??
Anuj: Anu…, ye kyu puch rahi ho?
Takes his car to side of the road and stops to listen to her.
Anupama: Mujhe janana hai, main janti hun ki apane jaan pehchan ki vajeh se nahi di hai mujhe partnership, aapane kaha tha, aur me aapake kahe par sawal nahi kar rahi, par main samaz nahi pa rahi ki apane mujhame aisa kya dekh liya jo itni badi jimmedari sop di. Main koi badi business karne wali aurat nahi hun, aare maine toh apani college bhi puri nahi ki hai, nahi koi badi Nakuri ki hai, aapko to pata hai meri bewkoofi ki wajeh se baa-bapuji, mere bacche, sab beghar ho sakte the. (Tears start rolling down her cheeks) Phir aapko mujhape itna bharosa kaise hai, iss baar agar maine phirse kuch galati kar di toh kitne saare paison ka nuksaan ho jayega.
Anuj: Anu… tum ye sab kyu soch rahi ho?
Anupama: kyu soch rahi hun? Meri galtiyo ka nuksaan aapko uthana padega Anuj, kya galat kaha Mr. Mehta ne? Aap mere bharose pe Karodo rupiyee kyon laga rahe hai? Upar se meri wajeh se aapko jo duniya ke saamne sharminda hona padega woh alag. Kal mujhe unn 4 grihiniyon me se 2 ko reject karna hai, unme aur meri kabiliyat me aisa kya farak hai jo main unhe reject karu, aage badhne ka mauka cheen loon unse, Mujhe samajh me nahi ata aapane iss baravi (12th) paas nasamajh Anupama me aisa kya dekh liya jo mujhe itna bada mauka de rahe hai…jo bharosa me khud pe nahi kar pati aap kaise kar rahe hai aur kyoon kar rahe hai? (She continues to cry)
Anuj: Anu….Anu tum rona band karo please, (leans to open the drawer in front of Anu seat, takes out tissue paper box), sabse pehale ye aasu poch do..(wipes her tears with tissue, holds her right hand between both his hands) tumhe lagata hai ki tum so called qualified yane padhi likhi nahi ho, galatiya karogi mera nuksaan karaogi mujhe sharminda karaogi, achha toh mujhe ek baat ka jawab do…..
