R.D. Burman passed away on Jan 4, 1994.

His songs are popular even today.

What are some of your favorite Panchamda numbers? (Other than the obvious ones)

Ahh what do I say about the senior Burman! He was simply brilliant! And consistently so! Almost 3 decades of exemplary music!

Absolutely. That was an era - very hard to choose from. Doesn't look like we shall ever experience anything like that again

My choice is pretty obvious but I can't help it.

Dum maro dum ❤️

This iconic anthem with its bold and unapologetic lyrics ignites my rebellious self. I feel energized every time I listen to it.

Second most favourite rain song ❤️

Until a week ago, I didn't know it's composed by RDB.

I think Dum Maro dum influenced an entire generation!

Hard to refute its iconic status!

I used to love the rocking RDB numbers like Aaja Aaja, O haseena zulfonwaali, Piya tu, Duniye mein logon ko, Jai jai shiv shakar and the likes, and still do of course but I have discovered a love for his less famous, mellower tunes off late.

Even though Aradhana is credited to SD as composer, RD was assistant and Roop Tera Mastana was mostly him which IMO is quite evident.
