Omicron/ 3rd wave could definitely be a contributing factor here.

It only started picking up around this movie release and wasn’t this bad during other successful movies and time is not the same as pre covid times when people will go to theatre multiple times without thinking twice. Time has changed and if they already watched a movie in theatre recently they will definitely avoid to go again.

PS: I know so many of my friends/family members are waiting for this movie to release online ( I know for a fact that they wouldn’t wait for online release if it was pre covid times )

The exhibitors will feel the heat. They were looking forward to this film to uplift them. The reviews were top tier. Still did not help. Writing was on the wall on day one when it cudn't benefit from xmas eve with high ticket prices. Ranveer's box office pull imo is restricted to big city plexes.
