I am not denying SRK his due. I am only saying it does not matter at all if one is successful on TV.

Anyday stars of Mahabharat, Buniyaad, Chandrakanta and Ramayan were bigger than SRK on TV because their shows had bigger viewership on TV and were landmarks, historic success unlike Fauji and Circus which ran for shorter period compared to other mega serials and had more following among youth than masses.

But NOT a single actor from TV ever got opportunity to act in a Yash Chopra film.

Not even a mega model and popular hunk like Milind Soman.

So it is not like SRK was some sought after guy due to his work on TV. TV actors like Mukesh Khanna, Nitish Bhardwaj, Shikha Swaroop, Sudha Chandran, Arun Govil, Pallavi Joshi, Renuka Shahane, Vijendra Ghatge had failed earlier which is why TV was even more looked down upon back then.

Whether someone was huge on TV or not, it did not matter as success of TV serial was never a big thing for industry then.

In recent times also successful TV stars like Barun Sobti,Karan Singh Grover, Mohit Raina, Sanaya Irani etc have not got offers from any Yash Chopra calibre director or big banners.

It is SRK's luck he got work in a Yash Chopra film and got chance to prove his merit as an actor and indeed did very well in Darr.

Even a legend like Irrfan never got work in big banner films despite his success on TV. Manoj, Ashutosh also started on TV but never got work in films of big directors or big banners like YRF in their initial years.

It is absurd to suggest YRF got lucky getting a 'huge TV star like SRK', when much bigger TV stars than SRK had already flopped and never got offers from Yash Chopra or YRF to act in films.

No TV star is considered bankable. So it is YRF and Chopra who made fortune of SRK by giving him a chance to act in Darr and he indeed proved his worth in the film.

Anjaam had a good opening , I culd not get tickets in first 3 days but it nosedived later on and was a flop.

So irrespective of what boxofficeIndia says these movies did well at BO.

I am not asking you or anybody to believe it but I am basing my opinion on what I had seen and read at that time.

I will reiterate my words, Lamhe was not a flop.

If you are talking about opening then it was due to Madhuri and popularity of Chane ke khet mein song.

Not due to SRK who was still new in the industry and had only one solo hit Baazigar prior to release of Anjaam.

Buzz was created because two biggest star-actors of 90's were coming together for the very first time, and hence it had good opening but people could not stomach the film and occupancy just went down the hill.

Don't falsify facts. Madhuri was bigger than the Khans.

SRK was already a success before YRF approached him for Darr.

Where did I say YRF got lucky ? You are just getting mixed up . SRK had left his TV career behind when he was approached by YRF. He being a huge TV star had no role in his and YRF partnership but it did have a role in his success, especially in first few films like Deewana.

I have already answered all your points in previous post itself , there is nothing more I can add at this point.

LOL at 'biggest star actors of 90s'. Madhuri was way bigger than SRK at that time and SRK was nowhere 'biggest star actor' then.

He had only one solo hit in Baazigar.

Otherwise his Deewana and Darr are multi starrers where he played supporting role or villain to much bigger stars.

SRK never had an ATBB like MPK or HAHK before 1995. Nor was his debut some overnight solo hero sensation like Aamir's QSQT, Hrithik's KNPH, Kumar Gaurav's Love Story.

He rose gradually as a film actor. Nowhere was he considered biggest star actor in 1993 or 1994 itself.

He was considered a promising new actor though and his first solo hero success Baazigar made him a reliable option.

But calling him 'biggest star actor' in 1993 or 94 itself a stretch. He was never called biggest until DDLJ.

His king Khan title came to him only after back to back successes of DTPH, Pardes, KKHH.

SRK was already a success only on TV before he got Darr.

Not in films.

Even on TV he was not part of top rated mega serials but niche youth oriented shows like Circus, Fauji. He had a small role in Doosra Kewal and small appearance in Wagle ki duniya. These serisls ran for short period. SRK did prove his merit as an actor on TV and was quite a charismatic, confident young man in TV serials but he was never a super star on TV the way Nitish, Arun, Vijendar, Mukesh etc were.

Irrfan also had successful shows like Chanakya, Chandrakanta, Banegi Apni Baat, Mano ya na mano, Star bestsellers to his credit yet it is amusing how he is not called a huge star on TV but SRK is.

And as I said again, success on TV never matters. We all know what became of Milind Soman, Mohit Raina, Iqbal Khan, Barun Sobti, KSG, Gurmeet, Sanaya, Pallavi, Mukesh etc.

No TV actor ever got YRF film in first 2 years of attempting to enter films, regardless of what superhit serials they worked in.

YRF only offered SRK Darr because they ran out of options. All the other popular choices refused to do the role. SRK took a risk and it paid off. Both SRK and YRF mutually benefitted from the relationship.

SRK was never supposed to be the lead in Fauji as the guy playing his brother was supposed to be the lead actor. The camera loved SRK so much that they made him the lead.

SRK didn’t get the same big roles which were offered to the other actors when he joined movies as he was an outsider. Hence in some of his early movies he played supporting roles. He took what was offered to him and glad that everything worked out eventually.
