Thank you. This is what I wanted to convey. It is not like SRK was some huge sought after TV star that YRF chose for bankability or popularity quotient.

He got lucky he got Darr because Yash Chopra was losing time and had no other options.

On TV also, SRK has not done a lot of work or mega serials that got huge TRPs like Buniyaad, Hum Log, Mahabharat, Ramayan, Chandrakanta etc. Fauji and Circus are shorter series compared to usual serials. Doosra Kewal, Rajini and Wagle ki duniya are special appearances or short roles.

But yes it is true SRK shone as an actor on TV and was very confident for a newbie. He showed immense potential and had a charming, charismatic screen presence in whatever serials or even episodics he did.

Its funny that they called a film with more than 2.4cr+ footfalls like Chandni a semi-hit. Chandni's footfalls were actually much more than darr. Also, if they call Chandni a semi - hit, then what would they call ChaalBaaz, which was also a very big superhit ? God knows.
