Akshu had to cry and hug him for him to see that Akshu's life is not a bed of roses. She has her own struggles and her own past and her own pain. Till date he has neither asked Arohi nor Akshu about their parents. He has taken rishta for both of them to Goenka house but doesn't care why their parents are not there or what happened to them.

He has seen Arohi and Akshu fight/argue and he has seen how Arohi behaves but Akshu but till now he has never asked either of them what the issue is or what the problem is. He has never even tried to find out.

He used to be super confident about Akshu loving him..despite her rejections he always knew but he never attempted to find out why she keeps pushing him away.

He needed to see that picture to realize that Akshu had not left the camp and had saved him by putting herself at risk.
