Okay, since the story is a chaurasta that can digress to the whim of the writers, even though I once in a while get disheartened, I do believe AryLie will happen.
There have been too many foreshadowing for the same. I don't know about marriage cause it looks so impossible at present, but let's see. Also there have been so many contrasts between both AdiLie and AryLie.
AdiLie were coerced into marriage; AryLie have been coerced into an affair
AdiLie faced dangerous situations together; AryLie are facing public scrutiny together
Aditya was always protected/rescued by Imlie; Aryan has been safeguarding Imlie and her dignity
Aditya has always questioned Imlie's choices; Aryan has maintained boundaries
Aditya wants Imlie to depend on him; Aryan wants Imlie to be self sufficient
Aditya is okay with Imlie as is, but hasn't facilitated growth. Aryan has tried to reinforce to Imlie that there is no harm in learning or excelling in something new.
Both pairs had a rough start, both were in a situation where both are victims of a situation/ person, but where in the former case the blame was projected on Imlie and she was victimized even further, in the latter, Imlie was encouraged to fight her pain and not treated as some burden you need to get rid off.
Aryan and Aditya have been subjected to similar situations which involved Imlie, but the treatment by both is so different. The same will be with marriage, if it happens. However, we can only hope Imlie can rise above the love for Aditya and see these differences. Hopefully, if she can understand Aryan and his ways so quickly, she can realize the difference. Imlie does not see Aryan in that view, but if he becomes the husband, then she will see a better contrast and evaluate.

same here.. just that my comforting entertainment had remained kdramas for last more than 1 decade.. and just for this show and Aryan i hv put all my dramas (5 on air dramas on hold.. i hvnt watched a singlr episode of my weekly dose of 9 episodes) so you can see how much i am sacrificing for Aryan and how big impact he had made on my psyche.
but then i am blessed to find Kdramas for that matter as they taught me about Real Storytelling, Screenllay and how to tell a captivating story just with beautiful cinematography.
their the storyline, whole narrative, characters stick to the original plan makers dont change them until n unless its something grave (in my 10 years with kdramas there was just 1 show where they actually changed the male lead).
And thats why i love kdramas.. they start with a solid storytelling, great mis e scene, meaningful cinematography and all symbolisms are there. Storyline is build around those things and you can trust all the things you are seeing as you know this journey towards destination is built on trust.. trust between makers and you.. trust between characters and you.. trust between plot and you... and then there is consistency.. which remains intact from 1 second till the last. And i know i can count upon all things happening cause they are there for a reason.
but ITV shows can show all types of symbolism for one pair and when they think its time to get some fresh air.. new characters with similar set of symbolisms... where is consistency.. where is the trust between you as maker and the viewer... why viewer are being treated as some stupid fellow who will bite on whatever bone you throw. thats my biggest issir with ITV there is no respect for viewers as viewer. Despite its known viewers give you the TRP but they dont get deserved respect.
hope this changes in future.
I agree, I have been watching Kdramas for some time now and they have really great storylines. Not just romcom but even, thrillers, regular dramas, suspense, and the best of all they are done with it in 16- 20 max 30 something episodes.
Thank you for drawing all the parallels. It’s all the parallels they’ve drawn that make me hopeful. (I wasn’t aware of them all - especially in regards to stuff that happened early on, but based on conclusions I’ve been able to draw and the parallels I’ve been seeing recently)
I too get discouraged sometimes but then go back to the writing and everything they’ve shown us so far. I realize relying on ITV writers to weave and then beautifully tie the threads of story consistently is usually asking a lot but I’m putting my faith in that for the time being.
Oh. I definitely did not see this scene when I was catching up. Will have to see if I can find it.

Divorce episode of adilie.... Imlie ne jab sign ki divorce paper.... Adi bola tha Agar hum kabhi wapas bhi tumhe bulaye tab bhi tum mat aana hamare paas.
Yaad aaya yeh episode?????
The Imlie Aryan scene of palat is reverse plus Aryan being witness to Imlies hope. Some changes visible in both but both have a tashan after enjoying a dance performance together. Something to hide ?. I wonder if Adini get married, will Imlie still stick to her hope ? If Arylie r not getting married then why they r having same rasams as Adini?
If Aryan is the one falling in love why is the DDlj scene in reverse since there it was Raj who was falling in love.
And even if Arylie do get married that scene of Imlie hope will never let Aryan come on terms with his feelings.
In DDLJ palat was for LOVE but in Imlie it is KHADHOOS . I don't think they have the same meaning as DDLJ had .The Imlie Aryan scene of palat is reverse plus Aryan being witness to Imlies hope. In Imlie Scene was recreated but question bhi toh alag tha. ( Main point)

In DDLJ it was Simran's subconscious that made her palat and Raj's gope that his charm worked on her...
while here.. Aru's subconscious is same as simran but Imlie's is not same as Raj its like her expectation of him being better than he actually portrays himself to be (Khadoos Akadbagha)..

She learns day by day that hiding under that hard/gruff exterior is a big old softie. Aryan is essentially a teddy bear trying to hide behind the mask of a shark.
