I didn’t realize this show was based on another one. So the two got together in the end of that one but was there an ASR character?

I also think that even if a show is based on something, different audiences require different things, so what happened in that show doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll impact this show.

Apparently ASR was only filler there to increase the seperation track... But maybe the guy who played ML there wasn't leaving the show... So...

Exactly! It audience wants something else... how regressive would it be to show her return is something I can't even comprehend at this point and let's face it we can't hope for them to justify redemption track... They'll do some half-assed whitewashing.

I’m very confused about the status of the actor playing Adi on the show. So he is on a break? He doesn’t want to come back? I feel like the actor is pretty good but the last couple episodes have been off. Like his expressions the day of the DDLJ dance.

It’s a little discouraging to hear that ASR was filler in original. I just feel they’re really leading people on with some of the storytelling choices they’ve made here if he’s not sticking around. He also seems quite popular, mind you, I only really stay in this thread and on SM I no longer search for Imlie, I look for Arylie content. So I may be in a bit of an echo chamber.

Yeah, I hate how in shows you can have a character be awful but when they decide they need them to be liked again they do this weak attempt at “redemption” and then it’s usually the FL forgiving and forgetting everything to take the male lead back.

They’re too cute together.

Also about the original inspiration, it’s been remade a number of times and it’s always gone a bit different. In another Hindi remake called Mohi, Adi and Malini’s characters married and Imlies went abroad for studies. It’s like a plot people like to redo I think, too see if they can get it right.

I went to sleep for 7 hours and we have moved 5 pages and with some of the greatest talks.. love this thread...

i hate that avout TV shows.. its all about TRPs and character, their build up, their sins so far can go to hell if thry are getitng TRPs makers can bring anyone in and butcher rest anyone.

i hv had enough of such horrible 180deg turns to my fav characters n shows.. and i am still trying my best tk keep my heart and sanity intact if something remotely similar happens here (i wont be watching anymore ITV ever again i swear.. after 10 years if ITV is still same as decade old self then i am better without it.. i am way to worried, sad, apprehensive believe me)

I can see how the story can definitely be told in different ways. I really think that they have something here with Arylie. I mean I’m quite bias, but still lol

I was serious when I said I haven’t been quite as intrigued and excited about an ITV show since Bepannah which seems like an eternity ago. I mean I’ve casually liked other shows since but they’ve hit on something good here.

I know people have their frustrations with Imlie but I’m really liking her. FLs can sometimes get kind of annoying because the writers are trying to make them SO likeable/perfect they become the opposite.

I think we’ll have a better sense of where they’re going here once this marriage track is done. I had forgotten how much I hate wedding tracks on ITV. They drag on and on and on. At least here they’re getting costume changes and there’s different functions on different days. My mom and I used to jokingly keep track of how many days the FL in a show would have to keep working in her wedding outfit. I think I’m Rangrasiya it was weeks before she got to change lol Mind you, I think she was stuck in the same outfit for a few “days”.

That’s definitely another annoying thing about ITV. I find there’s a lot of sense of entitlement in ITV fandoms - give us what we want or else kind of attitude. TRPs rule everything, whole storylines change for it. And I get changes need to be made, ratings play a big role here on Canadian/American TV as well but it’s not the same I feel. It really hinders the ability for creatives to tell different stories. I haven’t watched any web series but I was having a conversation with a friend and she said that’s why web series have taken off. Writers have more freedom to tell the stories they want. I get that sometimes you need to pivot because a storyline just isn’t working but here they completely forget everything they wrote before to fit a new narrative. It feels sometimes like they’re just throwing all the random things at the wall and waiting to see what sticks. Which is frustrating.

I hear you. I’ve stayed away for a while and even when I initially saw a few Aryan/Arylie scenes come up on Instagram I tried to resist. But I’ve been going through a lot of change recently, and been feeling quite burnt out, and desi tv - despite how it makes me feel sometimes - feels comforting. But I might just have to give it up forever at some point if the storytelling is going to remain the same.

I’ll just have to stick only to my comfort American TV - which is just rewatching old shoes I grew up watching over and over lol

same here.. just that my comforting entertainment had remained kdramas for last more than 1 decade.. and just for this show and Aryan i hv put all my dramas (5 on air dramas on hold.. i hvnt watched a singlr episode of my weekly dose of 9 episodes) so you can see how much i am sacrificing for Aryan and how big impact he had made on my psyche.

but then i am blessed to find Kdramas for that matter as they taught me about Real Storytelling, Screenllay and how to tell a captivating story just with beautiful cinematography.

their the storyline, whole narrative, characters stick to the original plan makers dont change them until n unless its something grave (in my 10 years with kdramas there was just 1 show where they actually changed the male lead).

And thats why i love kdramas.. they start with a solid storytelling, great mis e scene, meaningful cinematography and all symbolisms are there. Storyline is build around those things and you can trust all the things you are seeing as you know this journey towards destination is built on trust.. trust between makers and you.. trust between characters and you.. trust between plot and you... and then there is consistency.. which remains intact from 1 second till the last. And i know i can count upon all things happening cause they are there for a reason.

but ITV shows can show all types of symbolism for one pair and when they think its time to get some fresh air.. new characters with similar set of symbolisms... where is consistency.. where is the trust between you as maker and the viewer... why viewer are being treated as some stupid fellow who will bite on whatever bone you throw. thats my biggest issir with ITV there is no respect for viewers as viewer. Despite its known viewers give you the TRP but they dont get deserved respect.

hope this changes in future.
