Adi has always taken her for granted because he knew she has no where to go than him... No matter how badly he behaved, she can't return to PD because "she's married in her village" and initially she couldn't have survived in city alone....

So emotionally, financially, socially... In all ways she was dependent on him... (And maybe he enjoyed that power - because he never tried to annul that first illegal marriage and have a clean break)

So this time when she walked out burning her mangalsutra .. he thought it'd be like all those other times where she returned eventually/ or he'd get her to return (by groveling or other ways I don't know)

But now after Aryan is in her life... she has a job, a house, good companions, emotional, financial, social security...

So this now angers him that she has somewhere other than him to go... Now he is to be accountable for his actions and can't be hot and cold at his whim

(Classic captor signs of you ask me....)

And I agree about thirdwheel part as well...

Pehle he was centre of universe and M/I fought for his attention and he decided whom to give his attention at any point of time.

But now he's unable to handle that same situation in reverse.

I imagine others have already replied to this comment (how has this threat grown so quickly! I didn’t even sleep for that long lol) but I couldn’t not!

This!!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That was not a healthy balanced relationship. He always held power and control. He could take her for granted (and in the process be borderline emotionally abusive) because she literally had zero options.
A large part of his anger is, and almost instant anger at Aryan helping her - is because now she doesn’t actually need him.
Aryan is the opposite of Adi in so many ways. I keep saying this, but he makes her stronger, challenges her. Even yesterday when he saw her upset looking at the pictures he thought about how she has a life waiting for her. He has zero romantic inclinations right now towards her (at least consciously, unconsciously that’s changing), all he wants is for her to be able to stand on her own two feet, without any support from anyone (him easily understanding that she wouldn’t stay in his home without paying rent for example). He doesn’t want her to rely on anyone, even him! That’s what I love.

Can someone confirm - was she ever this easy and relaxed with Adi? Like with Aryan, she just calls him out. Even the way they interact with each other (especially the last few episodes) is more as equals.

Well @Sundari, technically this captor theory fits to most of the ITV heroes these days, where they want their counterpart to grovel for them. And as long as the person appeases them, it's okay. When they begin taking a stand, tab woh buri ban jati hai.

So that is the same case with Aditya. Matlab bakchodi ki level itni hai ki agar Imlie ka woh sahara bane to theek. Koi aur bane to galat. Woh help kare to mentoring, koi aur kare to favor. Woh uske saath rahe to patnidharm, agar Aryan ke saath rahe to gold digger. Isse jyaada sasta logic na hi suna, na dekha.

Please bhai jo bhi ho, iss namuraad ki shaadi Malini ke saath ho jaye. Ek dusre ko barbad karo. Baaki sab ko baksh do yaar. Aur AryLie ki shaadi ho to Maan-Geet style development dekhne ko mile. Jai Sita maiyya ki.

completely agree with what all you shared but last para as you asked i can add..

she was like that only when she was in pagdandiya.. she was a free bird then just like how she is now once out of T out... and with Aryan she is Pagdandiya wali azad Imlie whom not one can capture cause thats what she is..

I haven't watched the full episode so can't be sure but...as far as I could see from some screenshots and clips I've seen...Malini had Aditya's name emblazoned in big clear letters on the palm of her hand and then an additional letter A on her wrist.

The one that got transferred to Imlie's palm came from the lone letter A. If the makers intentions were to transfer Aditya's name they surely would have had it transferred in its entirety from the actual name on the palm of Malini's hand.

I think the whole point was just to have Imlie spotting mehndi of an A on her hand. The makers are clearly trolling the various fandoms by keeping everything ambiguous and giving both little lollipops that keep either or both fandoms interested.

In addition, that action of transferring the mehndi was deliberate on the part of Malini. There is no way in hell the pyscho that is Malini would want Imlie spotting Aditya's mehndi on her hand so she probably got that A drawn not as a homage to Aditya but just to transfer it to Imlie and therefore that lone letter meant nothing.

I have mentioned this before also. With Aditya it was always about izzat, with Aryan it's about barabari. The way the interaction flows is evident. With Aditya its aap, with Aryan its tum. Always.

Aditya always took the age gap rather seriously where he was like a parent, reprimanding her. Also, until he saw it for himself, he did not know that she was such a bright student. And Imlie idolized him very much. Also, mujhko sabse jyaada ye baat galat lagta tha, that she was always justifying her choices, be it believing in the marriage or anything else.

With Aryan, uska beginning se hi takraar tha. But alag tha. Ek to Aryan was very comfortable with her name calling and the way she addressed him. He was strict, but did not belittle her or reprimand her all the time. And Imlie surprisingly understood his point. Upar se she is a little more free and expressive with him also. After her breakdown the comfort level has been growing smoothly.

Both equations are different precisely. Both trajectories are different. But I can say one thing for sure, Aditya has humiliated Imlie much much more than Aryan. It took Imlie to take a bullet for Aditya to become civil with her. Aryan, once or twice has bullied her, but then when he recognized how bright she is from her article, his demeanor changed and with Aditya being the reason for her pain just changed the direction of the equation. So, premis can call him hormonal, Future DD, Udharwala, but in all honesty, he has treated her much better than the entire T&C universe combined.

Last line is GOLD PURE GOLD....

Aryan is strict with words but not insulting nd his actions are again strict but mentoring her.. rest all agreement...

thats why i am die hard fan of them together and if makers, gul ma'am played any trick to Aryan's character ill be tata bye byeing to Imlie and back to my kdramaland...

with this i am off to sleep...gn sd tc everyone.. Happy AryLie dreams...

so until its the question of her dognity/modesty/character.. Aryan wont jump in and only then he would look at her for her wish and only then he would do anything..just my 2 cents.. not sure how iy will happen but this is just my wild imagination..

Agreed. He gives her time and space, he lets her take the lead.

If there is a marriage soon between these two I think it’ll serve to highlight further how much better off Imlie is in the R house instead of the T house. For example, in both cases she will have had to marry a man she didn't love and who didn’t love her but despite that, the contrast between how each of them treats her is night and day.

Yeah, same here. I hadn't watched Anupama from the start but you know like all ITV kinda figured it out😆, but the way she was given the strong voice to stand for herself and not take all the crap from her authoritative husband and old-school MIL was screen breaking. I truly enjoyed how the makers of that show have broken the typical stereotypes of society to make way for the new thoughts of the world and how a woman should not be bound to the shackles of her sasural and husband if they don't deserve her, respect her and stop her from accomplishing something meaningful in her life.

That is why I also started to watch Imlie again because she was being shown breaking those stereotypes. It is going to be a hard journey for her and I don't want to see her being bound again by another unwanted marriage for her to move on.

Gul also has the typical styles for forced marriage: 🤣🤣

1) IPKKND Arnav-Khushi: contract for 6 months

2) Geet Maan-Geet: Khoonbhari maang in anger

3) Ishqbaaz Shivay-Kanika: Forced for some reason (not sure haven't watched it, just read about it)

So what I am expecting from Gul's writers is that they break away from their track record and do something different that actually makes sense so that they actually have some way of competing with Anupama.

Also, go hire Anupama's writers... by god, the dialogues they had written for her were so powerful that I clapped for those episodes. 👏
