my answer is based on the song selection of Ashi in the story… “Tharki chokro” … so its clear Tej has memory loss… and the song does have some lyrics regarding… memory loss… so I am thinking they are trying to trigger his memories back… my theory is the guy didn’t recognize Meet Ahlawat… and somehow not letting him talk to him (either he has seen him beating those goons or being angry on Meet Hooda or something like that) and hence the get up to talk to him…
