Emerging actor Vijay Raaz has been detained by the police in Dubai on the charges of drug possession.
Raaz had gone to Dubai for the shooting of Vikram Bhatt's movie Deewane Hue Paagal. He was supposed to join the team on Sunday, but was detained by the authorities at the Abu Dhabi airport after he was reportedly found in possession of marijuana (Ganja).
Raaz rose to limelight in Bollywood after his P K Dubey character in Mira Nair's ' Monsoon Wedding '. He has acted in a number of films by Ram Gopal Varma and was recently seen playing the title role in Rajat Kapoor's National Award winning movie Raghu Romeo .
Raaz has reportedly been incommunicado with Vikram Bhatt in Dubai since his detention on Sunday.
Under the Islamic law in the Emirates, consumption and possession of drugs may lead to a very harsh punishment and even death (in few serious cases).
