He even showed us a big ground inside the fort claiming that was the Jauhar Kund.😳

In the evening there was even a light & sound show in the fort, narrating Padmini's story.

I genuinely believed that the story was real & Padmini was real..... until all the hullabaloo around this movie happened

I wonder whether the guides there are still telling the same story to the tourists😆

Yeah whoknows maybe she's all made up but these kind of stories are great for the tourism industry. It's like the Taj Mahal story. That Shah Jahan built it as a monument to his love for Mumtaaz when in reality he was probably just flexing.

I'm guessing Padmini existed but wasn't half as pretty as she 's made out to be . For all we know Khilji was after Ratan Singh xD If the story is true I'd love to know the details of how he actually heard about her and the logistics of bringing her to his place. Like did she sail from Colombo to Mumbai and then ride to Rajasthan or did she sail to Kanyakumari and ride from there xD .OUCH. The Jauhar scene in the movie was so disturbing.

BTW it's beautiful at the fort in the evening isnt it ?

Go to Fatehpur Sikri, the guides will show you a staircase that leads to an underground door and tell you that it’s where Anarkali was sent and it leads to Lahore 😂

Deepika was gorgeous..and she still looks beautiful sometimes..but not in Padmavat..considering all the talks about authenticity of her look in the movie..she still didn't look good.

Somehow my mind is stuck at Aishwarya as Padmavati..so nothing short of her beauty level would appeal to me

. Shah Jahan did build it for Mumtaaz but the Mughals aren’t that old. It’s just 16th century.

Rani Padmini is dated around 13t hv century and hasn’t been mentioned until 1540 which was written as a story..

The poem says her parrot rudely tells Queen Nagmati that its previous owner, Princess Padmini is more beautiful than her 😆 Upon hearing that Ratan Singh visits Singhal & attacks the fortress of Singhal on the advice of Lord Shiva. (He tried to meet Padmini in a harmless way before though, but missed the chance because of wrong timing😬). Singhal king defeats him & captures him, but after knowing who he is, marries his daughter to him

Then the duo return to Chittor via Puri. There's an instance of them facing a violent Sea Storm & all their followers dying (apparently as a punishment to Ratan Singh because he was being too smug about finally getting the most beautiful woman for himself 🤦🏻) but him & Padmini getting saved by the ocean.🤔 There, in Puri, he recruits a new entourage & returns to Chittor.

So, as per the poem, they travelled through sea route to Puri, and then by road to Chittor.

@Bold : It was a hauntingly beautiful site till the evening....but after that, it was only haunting 😬 Our guide telling us that all the women who died in Jauhar still haunt the place didn't do any good & I was practically counting the minutes till we get to return to our hotel & thanking my lucky stars that nothing paranormal stumbled upon us yet 😬😆

P.S - As far as I know, Tajmahal story is real. Unless you are very deep into debates & conspiracy theories, most of the widely accepted history books support the narration that Shahjahan built it for Mumtaaz.

😲😲😲🤣🤣🤣

I have been to Fatehpur Sikri, but somehow I missed out on this gem 😆 Maybe because we didn't take any guided tour as someone from our group already knew his way around. If I ever go again, I am going to insist on getting a guide😆

Ofcourse, the two are different in that sense. The Taj is obviously not a myth. I was saying tht people romanticise things and sell a story overlooking other angles. His love for Mumtaaz and grief over her death must have played a part but It could have also been a proclamation of his power as emperor. He was friendly with the Turks but there was probably some subterfuge there and maybe he felt like making a statement about his being a formidable Islamic Empire in the East. . And architecture was his thing.

Mumtaaz was a clever woman who was politically aware and had a lot of influence on the Shah. Not the wallflower we imagine her to be when we hear that story.

There's a very interesting play by Dilip Hiro that discusses the theme of guilt and its role behind the Taj. That Shah Jahan may have accidentally caused her death to ,put it mildly, during some heated argument over political matters where he maybe sense rivalry , and that guilt made him overcompensate with a grand display of his love for her.

If that nasty little bird had kept it's mouth shut all these people would have been saved a lot of trouble.

Oh yes they are 😆 I visited the fort this year. I really liked all its history though. And the place is beautiful ❤️. But too damn hot, I went there in Feb, I wonder what happens during the peak summer months There's just something about that whole fort though. It's so hauntingly gorgeous.

Honestly nothing beats Aish's look as a Rajput queen in JA. She actually looked like a queen, so ethereally beautiful and royal ❤️ And this is coming from someone who finds her plastic 😆Had Padmavat been made earlier, I am sure Aish would have fit the role perfectly.
