when alaric died in s3 end there was a scene with damon sitting at alaric grave and missing his drinking buddy saying he was stuck with the kids and fighting with stefan

i think damon and stefan had 7-8 yrs age gap and stefan was always a teenager whereas alaric was closer to damon's age and more mature

[/QUOTE]bold: one of the reasons i am hating s5 is because the writers have messed up the characters it looks like damon simply doesnt care about stefan at all whereas they should be on better terms now

i felt damon cared for stefan much more in the previous seasons even with all the sarcastic comments and hatred and love triangle going on..also the stories are totally lame no good plots its so boring

I don’t think that’s the case because in the initial seasons, Stefan is shown more mature, he is the brooding person between the two.

It’s just that Stefan is so occupied with Elena and there are more scenes with Ric.

Also, in the later seasons we come to know that the past years were not really hunky dory for Damon, he has gine through the whitmore society and shit.
