Don’t get me wrong , I am not a Kareena hater but when I see comments like Pooh is iconic and is the best thing that has happened to actresses in Indian cinema , I am appalled and flabbergasted.

I think it’s an insult to all the actresses who went out on the limb to take up challenging roles and pushed the boundaries. Even if we take the glamorous roles into consideration , Pooh was nothing extraordinary as it’s made out to be today.

Do you think it’s pure PR tactics? Please share your thoughts , I would love to know unbiased opinions .

But no one ever said that, ever. Surprisingly, not even Kareena Kapoor herself ever said that. Kuch bhi.Crazybollywood — Kareena Kapoor as Pooja “Poo” - Kabhi Khushi...

Many of the young female actors at Rajeev Masand's Roundtable 2019 took Pooh as an iconic character and their inspiration for taking up acting. Tara Sutaria,Saloni Batra,Ananya Pandey and Geetika Vaidya Ohlyan were the participants. That roundtable is more remembered for Siddhant's droll comment towards Ananya Pandey. It certainly proves that the younger generation is completely clueless about the history of Hindi cinema and especially legendary actresses and the memorable roles they played. Their education begins with Kajol in DDLJ. Older generation insiders like Ranbir Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Fara Khan and Karan Johar have seen films going back decades and can speak authoritatively about it, (whatever be their other faults).

Pooh is iconic only on this forum where Sonam is also potential Waheeda Rehman and Meena Kumari. LMAO!

The forum where Abhishek can be called more talented than Amitabh, there comments calling Pooh iconic are a given and you know how seriously to take them.

These comments do not warrant any debate or separate topic IMHO.

And the nepo kids who called Pooh iconic - are same people who called The Godfather the most overrated film while admitting they had not seen it.

This is best ignored and not meant to be taken seriously.

Paid bots and PR do not make any actor or role iconic.

Ironically it is not just the nepokids who called Pooh iconic. Saloni Batra (Soni) and Geetika Vaidya Ohlyan (Soni, Thappad) has cred as actors to be taken seriously and are not just dumb starlets. At the end of the day, they as well as Ananya and Tara were mentioning the same people. Kajol in DDLJ and Kareena as Pooh. One of the four mentioned that she had never seen a Hindi film growing up and was always more interested in theater (or was it dancing?) And these are our future stars? Pooh is pretty popular and she has her place. But to see her as an inspiration is something else.

It's not a benchmark for acting but the character has survived over the years and gotten its own sort of following. I doubt even Kareena considers the acting iconic, but the character is one of the more memorable female characters in recent years. You don't need to be a hard hitting tragedy to be memorable.
