Abhimanyu Birla : The man in love

Disclaimer: Don't take it as defending post... Just sharing my thoughts on what I understood of Abhimanyu Birla. Will not speak about Akshara because I have already spoken about her reasons and has made a thread on her.

Abhimanyu Birla: He was a loner, a person who has seen his mother getting disrespected by his father and had felt helpless because even when he wanted to take a stand his mother never let him. He never believed in love but this time he fell in love . But what he termed as 'in love' is just the first step towards it. He has craved love all his life... A desire he did not know he had or maybe he knew but lied to himself and everyone around. He craved to love and be loved. So now, he thought, he is in love and that's why it has all the rush... Not because he does not trust Akshara but the reason is, he does not trust his faith... His mother loved his father.. what did she got? Pain and distance and he thinks that if he gives that space then the bridge would be too hard to cover.

Pyaar soch samjhkar nhi hota lekin pyaar mein soch aur smjh honi chahiye ... Ki jab koi gale se laga kar roye toh khud se pare usko rakhkar, ashq pochna aana chahiye.

Nd he lacks that... And it's his flaw.... We have wait where makers are gonna take this arc. Hopefully upward. He has to grow... Individually. Sometimes we see too much of bad to believe in good and when we see it, first instinct to push it away but when we finally believe in it we latch on it... Like our life depends on it and the same has happened to Abhimanyu. He does not want to let go of Akshara because when she will left, a part of his soul will left and he will feel there is nothing inside to keep him alive anymore. Abhimanyu is going to learn to give the kuch desired space so that the roof of love stays.

Jo pyaar se nafrat karte aur jab unhe pyaar hota hai na toh na dil ki suni jaati hai aur na hi dimaag ki... Chadhta bas ek hi suroor hai, sirf uske naam ka. Aur jab Inka Dil tootta hai toh kudrat bhi rota hai par seekh ka paath chot se hi padhata hai

Right now, he was behaving like a teenager in love and there is nothing wrong. It's his first time to feel those butterflies, those mushy mushy feeling, the shyness, been taken aback by goodness ... He has seen those qualities in his mother so when other have that same, he is bounded to feel attracted but now it's time for him to come out nd see Akshara as her .... Not only the qualities which she and his mom shares....

It's time for him to grow as a person nd then for them to grow as partners.

So its him. All in him. You love him, you hate him, you get irritated by him but there will always be something that will bind u to him.

Reading your post helped my confused mind to relax. May be he saw too much negativity in his life that one positive hope he wants to hold it without thinking about consequences.

I am glad it helped u with ur confusion... Sometimes we want our fictional character to behave this certain way or this ideal that we forgot that they have to show flaws and character development which I hope makers show here

Thanks for the tag yaar. You basically stole the words right out of my mouth on what kind of a character Abhi is. You described he need so aptly.

I know everyone’s been complaining about this or that about Abhi, how quickly he fell in love, how soon he went with the proposal and how rushed he was for Akshu to confess. They all thought it as an obsession, but like you said it’s his character flaw. We see this from the very beginning, from the moment he’s introduced. When it comes to his personal life he’s very rash about everything, his mom even tells him to drive slowly, that in itself is a metaphor on what sort of person Abhi is. When he is sure of something he doesn’t want to wait for it, it’s like a small kid on Christmas morning, ripping open all the gifts to see what they got, there’s no patience there to unwrap slowly and neatly. Abhi’s personal life is like that, a very stark contrast to his professional life where he’s always calm and composed. Like you said his rushed behaviour is not just because he’s over confident about his feelings and others feeling towards him, but the mere need to be in live and loved back. He hasn’t seen that sort of relationship in his household and sees how much each person is suffering. So when Akshu came in and he knew there was something mutually, wether words were expressed or not he clung to it as if his life depended on it. I had mentioned before on another post as well. We all think Abhi’s strong and Akshu’s the weaker one, but it’s not the case. Abhi’s been putting a sting front up all his life and it was with Akshu that he was able to let go of that guard, be vulnerable. As for Akshara I think that needs another thread on itself on her strength and weakness and why she does what… but coming back to Abhi, I think the makers have shown what Abhi is, his good and his bad, and now it’s time for them to move forward in the right direction and give his character the needed growth to trust himself and his love, to give their love the needed time for it to blossom into the beautiful flower it was always meant to be.

P.S. I’ve still have to comment on your thread love at first sight and a few others, AD’s been busy but I’m starting to catch up slowly.

I like your take and it makes me like Abhi more to see him in this way. He's like a blind man used to his blindness, and suddenly he sees all the light and colors of love and can't bear to have it taken away from him.

It could be a really compelling character - a mature successful accomplished man who is immature/naive in this one respect and doesn't know how to handle love so he tries to exert the kind of control over it that works for him in the other areas of his life. I wish the writers would write Abhi with a little more clarity though. They have a fantastic actor in the role and I don't think they are giving him the subtlety and nuance this kind of portrayal requires. For now he seems delusional and a little unhinged...

its love at first sight and his first love and yes he is restless and moving too fast but got the break which was needed. He will be better ahead

The person who prepared himself with a fake smile before entering his own place. This Lonliness is unimaginable. Children are always affected by their parents equation.

For Abhi Love is a new feeling and honestly we as human do silly things in love... Many times we don't give a second thought we are so in love that we don't realise the impact of our decision on other people around us

Surely there is a lot of scope in Abhimanyu's character to grow in future. I am looking forward for Abhi to realise depth and meaning of love in true sense... It's not only about taking care but understanding, respecting individuality of other person and communication.

He will learn it all slowly.

Count myself in... I was and a little bit still in the list... Not obsession part but immaturity wala kaand. But when I sit back and see what I have done till now and then see Abhimanyu, all I see is reflection of many shades of mine in him and a lot of other person I know... So that's how I understand him...

What everyone misses, you catched on... That seriously was such a great metaphor and symbolism. Damn girl... You are freaking awesome

Exactly all he has seen is sufferings around him... He never felt like coming home until he fell in love nd we have seen it. The first time he entered Birla mansion we saw how he felt and he has OCD and maybe an anxiety attack was building up which he distracted himself by arranging books and all and then Nishtha came up so things were under his control nd then we saw him entering after he realised he fell in love with Akshara... The happiness was evident on his face. The sukoon that gave him has just brighten up him.

So when Akshu came in and he knew there was something mutually, wether words were expressed or not he clung to it as if his life depended on it.

See we all know they need to talk to know more about each other but rn, that's their relationship flaw which they have to work on.

We have been introduced to both side of him and like you said, it's so true.... Abhimanyu is stronger when it comes to taking a stand and Akshara is stronger when it comes to understanding emotions. They will teach other, learn from each other nd from the world and will love .... Nd that needs time and we have to have patience.
