The reason I started watching this show was for the family bonding. I'm Tamil, and ended up watching a few of the OG episodes with my Mum when I was stuck at home during the lockdown. And when I heard there was a Hindi remake, I was intrigued. Because the OG isn't a typical saas bahu show, nor is it a strictly romantic show, and those are the only things I've ever seen on ITV.
My first Shiva Raavi scene had me hooked, and the family bonding kept me stuck to it. But the amazing potential Shivi's bond had has been left unexplored to the largest extent.
The rich history of people who've known each other their whole lives completely ignored except for the occasional mention by Shiva. Two people with a bond beyond marriage, and who seem to care for that bond more than they do for the actual marriage. Because the mad things they do for each other makes no sense otherwise.
But at the same time there are things I would like to change as well. How Raavi so completely lost her dignity in the wedding, her easy forgiveness for the family, her lack of commitment till the very last moment with the longing stare at Dev (I don't blame her for it, I do understand, but I also somewhere feel it was morally wrong).
So, I'm considering doing a Rewrite. It will loosely follow the story of the actual show, but I'll be changing a couple things that bothered me a lot. A couple examples are the ones mentioned above. I also want to explore the characters emotions and their rife history with each other to the maximum I can, make use of all that potential you see onscreen.
This post is only to see how interested people are in reading something like this because I have a busy schedule, a multichapter story is a lot of work, and updates will be very sporadic because I'll have to re watch episodes.
PS I have the plot for a couple chapters mapped out in my head and I'm definitely giving them a happy ending.... But I'm not clear on if it should stay a short story or a proper fanfiction though I feel that the latter might be needed for the kind of exploration I have in mind. So, I'd love suggestions on that, and on things that you wanted changed in the show too.

PPPS If I do start this story, I hope there's a lot of interaction because that's what gives me the ideas to write.... And the first chapter might be up in a week or two if all goes well. ❤️
