Mujhe kuch kehna hai by country miles. The film has sweet story, relatable moments with friends and family, amazing music and Kareena looked beautiful in it. I think Kareena has looked the best in this film.
It was a hit while RHTDM was a flop and is talked of only online but no one bothered about it in real life. It is not evem shown on TV. I wonder who calls it cult classic.
Mujhe kuch kehna hai is a sweet film, watchable with family and has light hearted moments with family and friends of hero and heroine. The final message is also good - hero and heroine focus on first completing their studies or becoming something in life rather than dropping it all to get married at once. Tusshar realises his responsibility and reminds Kareena to go about fulfilling her dream of studying at Harvard as well. He is not insecure nor his family wants Kareena to give up studying abroad.
Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai still gets aired on TV a lot and gets good ratings. It is first film that got Kareena noticed. Its songs were everywhere in 2001. Kareena is a superstar today while Dia is nowhere and did not even succeed in offbeat films. Maddy is a nobody in Bollywood and known only as supporting actor in Aamir films like RDB, 3 Idiots. His stardom in South does not matter at all to Bollywood audience.
Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai
RHTDM had a sublime soundtrack and better cinematography. Dia also had great chemistry with both Saif and Maddy. RHTDM would have definitely gotten my vote if they hadn't decided to shameless glorify the toxic chauvinism of Maddy in the latter half of the film. The guy harasses and lies to Rina, almost hits her and her friend on two occasions out of anger, and gangs up to beat Sam coz how dare he is engaged to Rina. And then has the audacity to act heartbroken and cry as if the way things transpired is everyone else's fault and not his .. The fact that his friends and father see him as some kind of hero makes it even more gross 🤢
Karan from MKKH is a loser in many ways and does a bunch of questionable things to win over Pooja. But the film never glorifies his actions. The time he uses his own blood to wish Pooja happy birthday, he gets chastised for it. I also liked the bonding between Karan and his sister Priya. The film also ends on a very positive message with Karan encouraging Pooja to go pursue her studies abroad instead of showing Pooja giving up everything to be with Karan.
