See it is about low self esteem.Through his career,Rishi never worked with any A lister..even a Rakesh Roshan worked with Zeenat,Hema,Rekha,Parveen..and many others.Same is the case with Neetu.. PROPER B LISTERS.In Deewar,kabhi kabhie,AAA they worked as second leads..or it was Rajkummar Rao like films of today.Till SLB took RK..the industry wouldnt even look at them.After that Filmfare started giving them front row seats!

What must have frustrated Rishi most was that he made a sort of come back to piggy back on Sridevi. Then films with Meenakshi,Divya( Deewana was her film-Rishi was a side role) in central roles.

Obviously they hated DP,Katty.

BTW Kids in school in Assam,to Tamil Nadu,WB..know who Prakash Padukone is ..No many know a Rishi Kapoor.DP's mother comes from a very wealthy family.Her father has a sea facing bungalow on Napeansea road Mumbai..

But commercially Deepika was always bigger star and more bankable than Ranbir who was giving flops and average grossers until YJHD saved him. Deepika anyday has better commercial success record than Ranbir. And is also more popular than him due to her looks and past success as a top supermodel of her time. She also had way more endorsements than Ranbir ever had and is a bigger brand than him.

I do not know what Ranbir is like in person and I did not make any comment or judgement on his behaviour or character. I had not seen top actresses going gaga publicly over any man earlier or still being obsessed with him after break up so I got curious to know what is so special about Ranbir or are people so attracted to Kapoor family tag, wealth and legacy.

I wonder why you are assuming I trolled Ranbir or made any judgements on him.

As for commercial success I am talking facts, pure numbers.

Deepika always had more endorsements than Ranbir, has more hits and as a brand she ranks higher than Ranbir in Forbes Celebrity 100 list in recent years as well

She was a top brand even before she entered films because she was the top supermodel of her time.

Please do not tell me about Besharam which flopped anyway and got opening only due to hype of being first film that had all Kapoor family members together - Rishi, Neetu and Ranbir. And was first film of Dabangg director after Dabangg's success. The opening fizzled pretty soon.

Deepika has been fairly consistent as a brand and in terms of commercial viability and popularity which is why she is again back in ads despite that last year's controversy. She topped India Today poll again as #1 actress.

But topic is NOT about acting or BO or even RK and Deepika.

I would not like to deviate further.

I would request to stick to topic on what ladies find so special about Ranbir and go extra miles for him and how he manages it with new girls again and again despite break ups or his previous GFs taunting him about commitment issues in public. His offscreen talent with ladies is as good or maybe better than talent onscreen.

You may be right about frustration. Rishi Kapoor himself admitted bit of envy why Amitabh and others overtook him despite his hit debut or buying award. He did admit his career was no great shakes. He is the only one to have played sidekicks to every heroine from Sridevi, Madhuri, Raakhee, Meenakshi, Juhi to even Divya Bharti and easily got overshadowed by male co stars whether it was Amitabh, Vinod, Mithun or Sunny or even a rank newbie like SRK.

I guess Neetu also projects her own frustration to girls who are potential DILs because she herself faced backlash from Kapoors who were not keen on her, objected to her relation with Rishi and initially assumed she was another timepass type date for Rishi. The seniors, it is said, did not accept Neetu in their circle and perhaps would not have agreed for marriage if Neetu did not get pregnant before marriage. Rishi-Neetu marriage was rushed due to her pregnancy.

I feel because Neetu herself had been judged so much and worked too hard to be accepted in Kapoor family, she herself became possessive for her son and status conscious and subsconciously tries to test other girls same way as she was made to go through tests by senior Kapoors. She may be projecting her own frustrations on any girl who enters her son's life. Who knows?

Padukone family seems humble and not snobs about their stature and connections. Kapoors almost consider themselves as some royal dynasty.

Woh din gaye....after him and Alia got together...he lost that "happening" appeal. Relationship status as well as age seems to have done that to him....good for him actually. He seems to have settled in life finally...

Deepika was a struggling actress before YJHD with a string of Flops and Disasters like Karthik Calling Karthik, Lafangey Parindey, Break Ke Baad, Khelein hum jee jaan se and Arakshan.

Other than that she was doing flower pot roles in movies of Superstars like Desi Boyz and Chandni Chowk To China and those also failed at the box office.

Ranbir had bigger Hits and successful films like APKGK, Raajneeti, Rockstar and Barfi before doing YJHD.

Deepika had nothing before YJHD except Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail, both starring Saif who was fairly bankable when these movies released.

So yeah, Ranbir was a bigger star than Deepika until YJHD atleast. After YJHD, Ranbir gave a bumper opening with Besharam. The movie flopped because it was crap but still the opening showed his star power. Rishi and Neetu were also there in Do Dooni Char but that movie got an opening of 27 lacs and it was a Flop.

Point is, Deepika always wasn't a bigger star than Ranbir. She has more Hits than Ranbir because she has done more films, but she has more Flops as well.
