I stood there staring at Shiv and Vivaan. Brothers! Who would've thought the two would actually be related. It's a very small world.
Vivaan: Okay can we start all over again? Bhai what are you doing here?
Shiv: We are guest here. Alok uncle, dad's friend invited us for lunch today. Remember mum told you about it last night but you said you wouldn't be able to make it because you had some important work to do. Very important work by the looks of it. Vivaan flushed.
Just then Kaya came down the stairs wearing a baby blue shalwar kameez, she smiled at Shiv then did a double take when she saw Vivaan standing there.
Kaya: What are you still doing here? OMG if baba sees you here I am sooo dead.
Vivaan: I was invited, he said and moved inside followed by an anxious Kaya who could not make head or tail of the situation. Gauri shifted uncomfortably under Shiv's scrutiny. He was studying her intently. At the very moment, baba came wandering in the hall.
Alok: Gauri beta why are you standing here at the door. He saw Shiv standing there and beamed at him. You must be Shiv. Why are you standing outside? Come on in. Gauri moved aside to let him in and then fled up the stairs to the sanctity of her bedroom. She stripped off her clothes and stood under the shower, too muddled to think properly.
Meanwhile, Shiv and Vivaan were being treated to a grand tour of the house by Kaya who could not believe Vivaan was actually a guest here, Mahen uncles son. That meant he would no longer have to climb up the pipe to come meet her. Kaya led them inside Gauri's room. Shiv smirked when he saw it. A typical girls room, with lacey curtains and frilly bedsheet and a whole wall devoted to posters of Orlando Bloom, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp.
Vivaan and Kaya left but Shiv lingered inside. he moved in further, leafing through Gauri's stuff. To his luck, he came across Gauri's diary, the one he had seen earlier this week. Without a moments hesitation, he opened opened it randomly and found himself staring at the picture of Gauri's very first boyfriend Nitesh. Gauri had written.
...i can't believe that ass Nitesh had the gall to dump me, Gauri Chatterjee. Oh he is going to pay. The bimbo has 0 IQ and chest the size of Pamela Anderson's. GOD men are such pigs..i hope he burns in hell!! I can't believe I let him kiss me..Well that does it..These no prince Charming and even if there is one, I know Nitesh isn't him. And he's not that cute when you think about it!! Why on earth did I even consider going out with him? STUPID STUPID me.....
The grin on Shiv's face grew wider and wider by the second. He turned the page and came across a passage written on gauri's high school boyfrien Steve.
...OMG.. I can't believe it ...Steve who is like the hottest guy on earth..(after Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom) asked me out! Is it just or are the GODS smiling down upon me..But what am I going to wear..Oh I so need to go shopping! Must call Ipshita immideately...Boy is she going to flip once she finds out! WOHOO...
Shiv smiled as he saw a totally different side of Gauri. She sounded like a hormonal teenager who was crushing over some guy and he couldn't help but laugh at her entry. he turned the page to read more:
GAY! OMG Steve is gay...ARGH..to think I kissed the guy..I wonder who else he has kissed..or what else..EW EW EW..i need to brush my teeth with detergent..No wonder he was so obsessed with his looks..And now that I think about it, he did spend an awful lot oftime in the locker room! GOD! Why does this always happen to me? It's not like I have anything against gay people its just that..WHY DID MY BOYFRIEND HAVE TO BE GAY? He totally ruined prom for me..The horror of seeing him standing under the bleachers making out with the Prom King...
Hahahahaha...Shiv could not help but laugh out loud. He totallu understood Gauri's dilemma but could not stop laughing about it. He choked back his laughter and skipped a few pages foward. The smile faded from his face when he found himself glaring at the picture of Shashank. Gauri went out with this jerk?. The guy was a good basketball player but aside from that, there was nothing good about him. He glanced about and read on:
What on earth happened to my sweet and loving boyfriend? He has turned into such a jerk..GOD! Ever since he made it in the team, he's been acting like a total and complete jerk. He avoids me like a plague in uni and then comes running to me begging for my forgiveness..GOSH..What does he take me for? And hes been trying to get into my pants alot..Like that's goin to happen. I really thought he was the ONE but i guess i was wrong.. Like i don't notice the way he drools over Laura...Well this is it! I oficially quit trying to make a relationship work..It's better not to have a boyfriend at all...Besides I was happy when I was single....
Gauri came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body to be greeted by a horrific sight, Shiv Kapoor standing in her room reading her diary. Promptly forgetting her scantily clad state, he marched over to him and snatched her diary out of his hands! The nerve of him. Shiv was not in the least abashed. He smirked at Gauri, making her wonder as to how much he had read. His gaze then slid over to what she was wearing, correction rather the lack of clothes and his grin widened.
Me: How much did you read?
Shiv: Not much!
Me: Keep out of my stuff! GET IT? You can get out now!
Shiv: Has anyone ever told you you look hot in a towel. Too late I realized what I was wearing and turned red. With the spped of lighting, I grabbed my clothes from the bed and ran into the bathroom only to emerge a few minutes later wearing a black shalwar kameez. To my growing resentment, I found Shiv waiting for me.
Me: You're still here!
Shiv: I know! I justed wanted to ask you something! Did you really go out with Shashank Mehra?
Me: Yes! I repiled.
Shiv: And Gay Steve?
Me: How do you...I looked at him then at my diary and boy was I mad. Shiv looked at the different emotions on Gauri's face and boy was she mad. I better run for it, he thought.Without another word, Shiv turned on his heels and fled the room, chased by as raging mad Gauri. Mahen and Nikhila Kappor looked up to see their son being chased by a pretty girl who looked mad about something. The two exchanged a look. Their son was always being chased by girls but in this case, it was a totally different matter.
Gauri's foot caught in the rug and she came crashing down, twisting in mid way so she came crashing down with Shiv on top of her. DAMN! This was the second time this week.She pushed him off and got up to find herself being studied with interst by who she could only pin down to be Shiv's parents. She smiled at them and took their blessing.Nikhila smiled at gauri and gave her her blessings.
Nikhila: What did you do? she asked Shiv who was standing behind Gauri grinning.
Shiv: Why do you always asume I must have done something? he asked her in mock hurt tone.
Nikhila: Because I am your mother and know you very well. Now tell me what did you do?
Gauri: It's nothing aunty! He was just annoying me. Please come in, sit down. Shiv gave her a 'thank you' look and Gauri smiled at him.
We sat down to dinner, seated in such a way that Shiv was sitting across me, Vivaan and Kaya sitting on my left. We were in the middle of lunch when I felt someone grab a hold of my hand. I looked up shocked and saw Vivaan smirking at Kaya. I chocked back a laugh and tugged my hand back but Vivaan thinking it was Kaya's hand held on tightly. I leaned in closer to Kaya and whispered in her ear.
Me: Kaya! Tell Vivaan that hes holding my hand not yours. As soon as Kaya heard this, she burst out laughing and everyone stared at her in surprise. She laughed till tears of mirth ran down her cheeks. I pinched her with my free hand to keep her from laughing. She leaned close to Vivaan and whispered in his ear. He turned a dark shade of purple and looked at me sheepishly. I winked at him and the three of us burst out laughing. Alok, Shiv, Nikhila and Mahen stared at them bewildered.
