Playing against India in India is never easy and that is why India goes into this match as the clear favorite. smiley10

India is going to start a new chapter in its T20 International journey with this series. Rohit Sharma is the new captain and Virat Kohli is going to be missing the entire series.

Also, Hardik Pandya, Rahul Chahar, and Varun Chakravarthy have been dropped.

Rahul and Rohit will open the batting but maybe Ruturaj Gaikwad could get a chance as well.

Shreyas Iyer, Rishab Pant, and Venkatesh Iyer are probably going to be in the middle-order. Yuzvendra Chahal is back in the fold and he is the bowler to watch. His good form in the IPL could translate to the international matches as well.

New Zealand's team performed very well in the recently concluded T20 World Cup and it could quite easily continue that success against India in this series as well.

No replacement has been named for Devon Conway and so we can expect more or less the same playing eleven that played the final.

That means Martin Guptill, and Daryll Mitchell will be required to score the bulk of the runs once more.

There does seem to be a lack of depth in the batting lineup in the absence of Williamson, which could be exposed if the pitch is bowler-friendly.

New Zealand is a settled team with players that know their roles. The only thing against it is going to be exhaustion and burnout.

That is the kind of punishing schedule that players today have to live with, and why they often suffer from burnout.

New Zealand is playing with the same squad except for Williamson that reached the final while India has made some changes to its squad as it tries to address some of the shortcomings that were exposed in the World Cup.

India vs New Zealand, 1st T20, Match Prediction

The series is Rohit Sharma’s first assignment as the full-time skipper of India’s T20I team, and he’d like to get off to a winning start.

IND VS NZ TOSS PREDICTION

The toss could be quite important in this match. There is some dew that is expected in Jaipur during this match and so the team that chases could have a big advantage.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

The pitch at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium is generally very good for batting. The outfield is small and there are a lot of big hits on offer. The pitch could be a bit better to bat on as the match goes on, and the dew comes into play. Considering all of this, we think something around 180 should be considered as par for the venue.

India vs New Zealand Head to Head Complete Stats for Test Match, ODI & T20 Matches - CrickBatsTips

Head-to-head-- Overall

Matches- 17, India – 6, New Zealand– 9, N/R- 0, Tied- 2

In India

Matches- 5, India – 2, New Zealand– 3, N/R- 0, Tied- 0

Probable best batter of the match Rohit Sharma (India)

Rohit Sharma has looked in pretty decent touch with the bat in hand of late. Although he failed in the first two games in the World Cup, he found his mojo back in India’s last three Super 12 matches. The veteran scored 174 runs from five games at an average of 34.80. If the Indian skipper gets going, the Black Caps would be in for a lot of trouble.

Probable best bowler of the match Trent Boult (New Zealand)

Trent Boult was arguably the standout bowler for New Zealand in the T20 World Cup. The speedster was on his mark throughout the tournament as he picked up 13 wickets from seven matches. In the match against India, he picked up three wickets for just 20 runs. Boult will now be looking to make early inroads into the Indian batting in the T20I series.
