Waise MHRW is not entirely a remake per se. SS changed RR's character significantly compared to the Telugu version, based on whatever little I saw online.

It never made sense to me. And if he liked Kush so much - why didn't they just improve his character to be someone who was actually likable? I didn't mind Sunny in the beginning - I feel like they should've just stuck to that characterization but then they wouldn't have had any reason to turn Keerti negative and then they wouldn't have had anyone willing to help M.... so.. ugh.. LOL.
Yes Kush is an ordinary actor. Maybe he is nice person in real life but that doesn't make the creatives to have him take so much screen space. At least redeem him if you want him in life of Raos. It is pathetic that this guy is there sitting in RR Mansion and planning how to take down Raghav and Keerti is so clueless to what is happening. I don't know but I feel as if Sunny will get a Nirma washing dhulaayi in 1 episode and everything will be bhool bhool. Sunny's character is so bad that I don't know who in audience even roots for him and appreciates his character.
If we could have SS's ideas with Ekta's promotional strategy, we wouldn't be in such a mess today. Man now I can't wait to see what SaiShi do next.
Btw, SS is not associated with the Telugu original/other remakes of MHRW, is he? 😳 The Telugu storyline is slightly different from what I've heard.
Also this--why did SS need to go out of his way to bring in this tadka if it's a remake? What happened to the original version's story? That wasn't good enough for the SP viewers? I'm pretty sure that had a much longer runtime (but then again, ratings ka chakkar).

How well do regional shows actually do in India? I never even knew there were regional shows until this year (I'm not indian).
Regional shows are like steady income for any PH - You have zero trp pressure and if by chance your show gets hit and appreciated then it comes on Hindi GEC. Gorrintakku had a run of 2 years completed 450 episodes and SP gave Sickand the chance to do it for Hindi space. So yes regional shows especially Marathi and Bengali are giving tough competition to Hindi shows. Almost all hit bengali shows are remade in Hindi.

The telugu story is credited to Sandip so yes Sandip is the creator of the original MHRW also. In the original the lead is an orphan and that is why she is so attached to D house - Plus they did get in Mandar ka track which I think ran for close to 6 months before that guy was proved as fake. In the original the FL is indebted to Mandar because he saves her from molestation and marries her. So she does separate and goes to take care of Mandar but it is later disclosed that the Mandar guy is fake. So the story line was different and I think Sickand got in the tadka he wanted. Unfortunately uski tadka yahan chala nahin.

Yeah Sai made Raghav Rao popular. So many of the small nuances were added by Sai and Sai is that prefect blend of mischievous and handsome personality.
