The reason audiences are able to better connect with the contestants in the regional versions of BB is that all of them speak a common language and belong to the SAME SUB-CULTURE. All those contestants you see are from Maharashtra (most probably grew up there and belong to a Marathi-speaking background). That is not the case with BB Hindi. BB Hindi contestants are a mix of Bollywood, soap operas, and other entertainment avenues, such as reality shows, YouTube podcasts, and so on. While they all speak Hindi, the don't necessarily belong to the same cultural background. While one could belong to Gujarat, the other could be from Kerala or even Bengal. Outside of BB, they may not even speak Hindi or share a common sub-culture. There is no uniformity. The general audience of BB Hindi is as diverse as the contestants themselves. A general connectivity factor may not be possible.

I dont think so, even the Marathi crowd is not typically Marathi, they are of a very Cosmopolitan outlook and we as an audience are also used to seeing and accepting people of different backgrounds. I dont think they are appealing to Marathi audience just because they are Marathi. And they dont even really push the Marathi angle or Marathi culture in BBM - so I would say it is quite similar to BBH.

Also the WKV --- SUCH a difference!!! Mahesh Manjerekar who hosts BBM is superb! He is unapolegitcally honest and brings up exactly all points which need to be talked about and is fearless about jhaading the contestants when necessary. Really enjoy all the Marathi WKV. Manjerekar also seems to be really watching the show rather than just getting feedback on points like Salman who this season actually seems really disinterested. In this WKV also there is so much less of Salman speaking and just other useless guests and games.
Agree with you on this. However, Manjrekar is still a novice at hosting BB. He is enthusiastic and looks forward to outdoing himself as a host with each passing season. He hasn't reached his saturation point as a BB host yet. That is not the case with Salman. Salman has maxed out. The reprimanding, yelling, scolding, correcting, etc. etc. etc. has become redundant. As if that wasn't enough, they keep calling the same guests every season. They even repeat certain wildcard entries every season. What more can Salman add as a host? What more can he offer? Clearly, as a human being, he too has reached his limit. Although I know it won't happen, I wouldn't be surprised if Salman actually decides to quit BB or even takes a seasonal sabbatical. His hosting has been lackluster during the past couple WKV episodes. He has either lost his zeal, or that he is only doing this for the sake of the quick bucks that this job fetches.
======
I would say if they had kept the BBH format exactly as it was in the first season it would have worked. There was no reason to change it. WKV has now just become promotions and silly games with boring ex-contestants. There is no real discussion/feedback to the HMs. With Manjerekar it is still what BB should be, with real interaction with HMs which is what makes it enjoyable. If they continue this format only and bring it back to Hindi BB it would really be more engaging. I have seen Manjerekar over the last 3 season and he is exponentially improving each time. Even if he doesnt get better than this and stays at this level, it will still be fine. Even in other countries like UK BB which I have watched a season maybe 3-4 years back the interactions with HMs was more real and same as it was right from the beginning. That is what made BB a popular show ans they shouldnt have really try to change that. BB Hindi I think because it wanted to become more commercial with the promotions lost its charm. Yes I guess really Salman should take a break. He is VERY bored with BB and it shows.
===============
The main difference is in BBM they dont try to elevate favorites and have no bahu-damads who they keep pushing and hiding all their faults. There is no bias towards anybody. Who is bad is bad and who is good is good. It is really tell it like it is, which is very satisfying to watch. In Hindi for many years its like they pre-decide the winner and then keep showing their good only.
That is what the industry demands. It is crucial for them to maintain those image-based standards (albeit fake). BB Hindi is all about glamour and image. The actresses must look good regardless of their situation inside the house. This is a situation where we cannot compare the two versions. They both have different standard altogether.
===
Let them look good, let them be glamorous - thats not the issue. But no need to elevate people who are going wrong just becoz they happen to be popular in public. Call out what is wrong and dont hid faults of ppl BB team is promoting. Audience understands whats wrong and right - no need to push a wrong narrative. Ex Sid was so openly aggressively and honestly painful to watch but they eventually portrayed him as a victim who poor thing everyone was bullying so he HAD to be that aggressive. And funny thing many of the audience bought that narrative. I dont think thats what the industry demands, now we as audience is sort of getting bored knowing that its not a good vs bad game but a only "promoted winner" game.
==================
I hope Hindi goes back to being more real and lets the HMs be and doesnt drag the narrative to only what they want. For people wanting to see a more interesting show follow BBM also if you understand Marathi.
Even if BB Hindi goes back to being real (as you stated it), the max it would do is jump back to BB 6 or 7. Post BB 8, it was all about glamour, image, and looking hot on screen. Nothing else would change. It would definitely not become as real as Season 3, 4, and 5 - In my opinion, those seasons were as real as you would expect them to be! However, those seasons were also dull in terms of appearance and tasks from a BB Hindi point of view. The contestants were STRONG, the viewpoints were STRONG, and the brawls were REAL. But since BB Hindi strives on image, expect this to happen.
I am not talking about it being dull in appearance - let it be as glitzy and glamorous as the sets are now, it does look good. I speaking about how the weekend interactions are more than anything. They should get the old back becoz that really worked. In fact even Salman's earlier seasons were great. Now he doesnt seem to want to interact with HMs too much and is quite non committal. He doesnt even want to have the chats with the evicted ppl as they used to show before with their AVs. I dont know if they have turned into this becasue Salman wants it, but then they better get a new host and try for a while. KJo for sure no, his feminism rant was too overboard and not even required at times.
